We're nearing the half way point of April already.....wow this year is going fast. How did you do this weekend? I had a nice relaxing Saturday. With Angela and Jared gone, I had a nice quiet house with zero interruptions and that allowed me to finish the first GP38 in the detail department. The second is awaiting the BLMA fans, lift rings and cab sunshades. I would really like to get these locomotives into the paint shop this week. I also did a bit of cleaning work on the modules while listening to my paranormal podcasts. Sunday was a bit busier. With my buddy coming down next weekend, I had to do an inventory of items we need to get his three modules done. I also went out to my storage unit and cleaned it up since that is where we will be working for the majority of the weekend. The usual items were finished as well including laundry, taxes (done!) and the club newsletter. All in all a good weekend but I'm really excited about next weekend. So how about you? Did you get everything done that you set out to do? Let us know! Before you know it, we'll all be back here on Friday the 17th to start the process all over again. Until then, have a happy and safe week and... High Greens!
I got my two switch stands on the layout, was able to hook them up so they operate with the points: This one is the spur to the logging area: This one goes to the sawmill: While I was at it, I added some ground covers and a couple barrels, shovel. I put a few people on the layout as well:
Went to the hobby show Saturday, there was a lot less train stuff than past shows, but I did have a blast and picked up a few freight cars, including a Roundhouse kit set that includes three stubby flat cars with add-on gondola sides. There's a roof for what could be a steam donkey shelter, and parts to convert one of the flats to a tender for the donkey. More fun in store, putting together kits!
I lettered a pair of boxcars, installed the last few Sergent couplers I have, finished decal work on the repaint of GP30 #3207 and completed U23B #2061. I created a roster plan for the Chicopee Road based around 1948, for the sake of owning a couple steam locomotives. I have a dead Bachmann Spectrum 2-8-0 stashed away to troubleshoot, and a 2-6-0 Mogul Sound Value on the way. Perhaps they will make their debut next weekend?
