Another weekend come and gone, hope it was productive. I was able to get my friends two flat car with I Beam load and CB&Q caboose weathered, just need to lightly weather the locomotive and they can be on the way to AZ. Unfortunately the Christmas ritual of laying track and putting up the tree took most of my time. I was going to post pictures, mainly of the weathering accomplished but I lost my dang cable to download said pictures onto computer.

How about you? Did Christmas decorating keep you away from the work bench or did you accomplish progress? Leave your response and hopefully you have not lost camera equipment so you can upload pictures. We'll do it all over again this Friday, December 9th.

Progress in Mooseport. As threatened, I'm working on the DPM modular buildings. The track position is pretty much determined by the carfloat dock, but there's a canal which has to go in before the track, and the buildings are tight on the canal walls, so the buildings have timeline priority. I was trimming all those little nubs off the sections as I watched football. Square sanding and gluing the walls together comes next.

But, sometimes, I get back on track. I built up the M.T. Arms Hotel kit some time ago, but I never quite finished the interior. Over the weekend, the Miller Engineering "Shamrock Hotel" sign I'd ordered came in, so I pulled up the building and started working on that, too. This time, it gets done before it goes back on the layout.

And, there was another train show! It was the NMRA's Hub Division show in Marlborough, MA, which I usually miss because we go up skiing. This year, though, the weather has been warm and the skiing very limited, so we stayed home and I did train things instead. The prize find was a Scale Structures detail part, a pool table which will fit in beautifully in The Brass Rat, a wharf-side bar down in Mooseport.

With the beautiful weather over the weekend I had to do some more cleanup from the snow storm last month. A couple of more days and i'll be done with that. I got my throttle back from Digitrax and began trying to run something on my layout, but all I got to do was clean some of the track. I also began making a pushbutton panel for the switches I installed on my clubs layout last Wednesday evening.

OK, I got a knuckle coupler on the back of my son's 2-8-0, so that's a good start. And I did a little more work on measuring for a nice board to mount a little starter layout for him. Hopefully I'll have more time when my two classes are finished next week.

Got started mocking up TomKat's background buildings for my city area. (Yeah, I'm definitely going to use them. Much appreciated.) Only B&W copies but they already seem to push the backdrop back further and make for a lot more interest. Photos soon with any sort of luck
