And like a flash of a high speed bullet train, another weekend quickly pulls away.

For me the weekend went by too fast. My step Daughters and future Mother in Laws birthdays took some time away from the modeling bench, but still made for a great weekend. The Iowa Interstate GP38-2 is all but done. I just need to clear coat it and re-assemble it. Cleaning the spray booth didn't turn out so well, so that will just get put together again today. The interior for the DPM Cafe building is coming along, just need to assemble and paint. Doubt it gets done for the weekend at Galesburg as time is getting shorter, but we'll see.

How did you fare? Did you finish any projects that you had hoped too? Did you go to any shows? Let us know and if you have pictures, post them.

As you know, I'm leaving for Galesburg Illinois Early Friday morning, so Weekend Modeling Plans will be starting a bit early this week, but will end with Weekend Modeling Accomplishments on Monday June, 25th. Hopefully I'll be posting updates on Galesburg RR Days in another thread. Until then,

    High Greens!

Well, I actually made more progress than planned, a by-product of setting low expectations, I suppose. Our own version of the Occupy Movement showed up, as my daughter and her boyfriend "occupied" the train room and watched TV much of the time. So, I sat at my workbench downstains and detailed the interior of the Brother Elias Last Chance Mission, a converted DPM Townhouse. It's almost ready for installation, but I'm not quite sure of the exact placement.

That will have to wait for the rest of the street-running track, a short siding. I started putting that together, using lessons learned from the earlier section. This time, I'm not following instructions, and it's going much better. Each rail piece will have its own feeder, pre-attached from below, rather than trying to maintain electrical continuity by soldering from above.

And the lobster dinner last night came out great. For some reason, there was a shortage of steamers at the neighborhood super markets, so we served up home-made clam chowder instead.

Benchwork is now largely complete for the BRS- Mount Rainier Division. I need to add two angle brackets, but foam, cork and track are next. Now where'd I put that trackplan?

I went to a train show yesterday. I managed to find an MR magazine from 1943. This issue had the drawings for a train station. I bought it for a dollar. Now I just need to buy the needed parts.

I also scored on a DL-109. It has dcc and sound. I only paid $40 for it. It runs and sounds like a champ! Now to buy some passanger cars for it!

The grading crews have been busy working on the roadbed for Paris, TX (Well, OK, a tube of Liquid Nails and several lengths of N scale cork roadbed), and so far, the visible yard at Betner is done. Later, I'll continue around the layout, installing roadbed for the main down to the hidden staging yard. Most likely, the rest of the railroad will have track laid directly on the foam.

I would have done more, but there was this little issue of Father's Day and our wedding anniversary (which fell on the same day this year), so not much else got done.
