Another weekend is behind us, hopefully you accomplished all that you set out to do.

Saturday I spent most of my time, going through boxes that need to come back to my office/layout room. The room I'm using for this is a front porch. Looks like I will have to combine my 2X4 workbench as both a workbench as well as a computer desk. After that I have room for the layout and spray booth. With Mothers Day yesterday, I didn't get any modeling done. I have my first meeting tonight with the N-Trak club of Bloomington/Normal. I know there are shows coming up, so the busy season is right around the corner for me.

So how did you do? Did you get some bench work built? Maybe some track work? Any shows? Let us know how you did and post some pictures if you can. We'll do it again this Friday the 18th.

    High Greens!

With my daughter returning from Europe after a term abroad, and the arrival of Mothers's Day a few hours later, I didn't get much done, but I really didn't plan to. I wired up one Walthers traffic light, only the east-west side because the south-facing light is a different unit and needs some tall polls to suspend it across the street.

It's been a while since I had to share the Train Room / Family Room, but it's fine to have our girl back, even if I have to listen to Gossip Girl rather than my traditional oldies station while modeling. Now that she's 21 and has spent some months in Italy, she appreciates my "house beer," Harpoon IPA. And the crepes she made us for dinner were out of this world....

In addition to preparing for this week's ops session, I was able to put the safety railings around Cottonwood creek - the creek that runs through Nelson yard - and get a start on the transformer station beside the diesel house.

Please excuse the mock ups and blue foam :)

    Weekend work

Worked on wiring up the track I have down.(old school DC) I finished up the dbl main and almost finished the yard. I ran out of the clam shell connectors which I get this evening. Decided to test out what I had done. Main worked flawlessly, but I had a little hiccup with the b main and the yard. It seems I had something crossed. After endless searches with the yard feeder I expanded to the B main where it seems Murphy struck. I had wired one of my drop down feeders for the yard to the b main. After about 30 mins, I found it...gawd was I relieved..lol Ran my big 4-8-2 on the main for 20 min and NO issues..weeeeee now I’m rolling. Tonight I should have all track wiring done except the round house area.

    All aboard...

I had a nice time running the T-Trak layout for national Train Day Saturday. Went to put in a window in my house on Sunday and found that the wall framing would not fit the window size I had, so I framed the opening for a smaller window that I will pick up today.
