Well we have come to the end of another work week, and the last weekend of September. Time to enjoy those last days of warmth!

Still unemployed, my weekend starts today. After a week of looking for suitable employment and dealing with state paperwork, I'm looking forward to this weekend. Last weekend my fellow train bud and I built four modules to begin the start of our joint CB&Q N scale project. We have both agreed on a date and area of Galesburg in which to model, so today I'll be drawing up a suitable track plan that will fit well on eight 18X48" modules. Selective compression will have to come in play here and perhaps a trip or two to Galesburg will be in order. Saturday I get to relax at the local High School and watch Jared play a Soccer tournament. So far he is scheduled to play four games so I should be entertained nicely Saturday. Sunday, I will be on my own as everyone else will be doing their own thing so I'll be taking this time to finish the legs on the N scale modules as well as put a bit of time into the T-Trak modules. All in all, a good change of pace.

So how about you? What will this last weekend of September be like for you? Track work, scenery, perhaps a train show? Let us know. We'll come on back on Monday the 29th to see how we all did on our lists. Until then, have a great weekend and...

Big weekend here for my layout (depending on weather). Contractor is scheduled to be here this AM to install an operable window in my attic. Once that gets in, I can have an insulation inspection and move on to sheetrocking my train room. I need the operable window up there for emergency egress (code). Been waiting a long time to get the train room up there finished. Its slow going since I'm doing most of the work myself + the day job. It is starting to clear up here w/ the clouds and rain potential. So hopefully, we can hold to schedule today.

Other than that, more work on my Avram's kit as I start to assemble buildings for the new layout. I have the old Albemarle City section of my layout in a conditioned storage space. If time permits, I may go there and check some measurements on it as I start to detail more of the new Albemarle Division layout. Plus I have a Westefield kit in progress on my workbench I may work on. Busy weekend... hope most of it gets done.

I'll start by cutting some Masonite to provide a base and fascia for my liftoff bridge section. While I'm at it, I may cut some more for other parts of my layout. But, I need to get the liftoff part done because the fascia also provides the edge so I can pour Envirotex for the river beneath the truss bridge.

Depending on how that goes, I'll start adding scenery to the liftoff. It'a already got plaster cloth, so the next step will be Gypsolite (for texture) and then some turf, rock castings, ground foam and tall grass. There's drying time involved in all of these, so that's probably as far as I'll get.

Well starting today I'm going through some boxes of RR stuff that have been in storage and getting things sorted for my return to the hobby. I also did a bit of work on a track plan last night and will work on that some more during the weekend. Most importantly I'll be doing some cleaning out of the landlady's basement in order to get some real estate for the layout to come. Oh, and if I have time after all that I have a couple of structures that I need to make some kind of diagrams for.

I guess it's true that my "Weekend Modeling Plans" dont actually involve any modeling but if I don't get this preparation stuff done I wont get to do any modeling. Does that count?

Time to hit the hobby shops an rebuild my supply store. Hopefully with all
The rain and a break due to
A funeral I will get some work
    Done on the layout.

I hope to have this set of freemo modules in somewhat of a finished looking state soon. Needs to be ready for the Banning Train Festival on Sept 11&12.
