Well by now you might be thinking that I was abducted or lost on some bizzare Railfan adventure but rest assured here we are! This is my last weekend working at SAMs which means after this weekend I'll actually be able to participate in the thread I put up each weekend. After a lot of debate, I was offered a new job in the Hobby industry and will start soon. It's RC planes again but I still have a love of that hobby too. So this weekend, not much in the way of modeling other than setting up the Galesburg City Job in its new bigger home. We are 90% moved so that pulse two days at SAMs means not much will happen. So how about you? Anyone else moving? What about updates on your train room. What will happen this weekend? Let us know! We'll all come back on Monday the 5th and see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, stay safe and... High Greens!
Well since half the weekend is spent in Grand Junction CO each week I can plan accordingly. I have some extra time Sunday so I plan on spending as much time as I can in the train room. My plans are as follows and I hope I get it done: Remove turntable Glue down cork pads After glue dries cut hole in cork for turntable Wire narrow gauge line for DCC Start troubleshooting turntable wiring Install decoder in HOn30 loco Program decoder Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
I'll be working on repairing/maintaining things on my HO module in preparation for a public show* in a few weeks. Several animated features have stopped working in the past couple of years. This week I made a replacement slow-motion motor/gearbox with an RC plane linkage. It powers a man pushing a loaded cart out and back through a warehouse door onto the rail loading dock. I also added a couple of light bulbs on the dock to illuminate it better. Now I've got to fix the cosmetic details on the structure that I damaged in the process! Next up will be figuring out why a Seuthe smoke unit has stopped working. It is hidden in a roadway near a grade crossing. Above it is an automobile with the hood up and a guy with his hands on the radiator cap while a buddy looks on. When operating, it looks like an overheated car with steam rising up from the engine and the pavement. Several cars are backed up behind it -- the scene gives a reason for cars to be stopped even when there is no train at the grade crossing. Here's a photo showing the stalled car sans smoke. *http://trainweb.org/20s30s/events.html
That would be something beat to see. I have plans on adding some sounds. I have these songs I want playing in a couple areas: Tennessee Ernie fords 16 tons Thomas the tank anthem for when I get small visitors Follow me boys for a scout troop scene Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
I have a sound chip for the saw mill. It runs off of a 9 volt battery and I want to change that but not sure how. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
