We're off through the gates to another weekend. What do you have planned?

I'm off to Columbus in about 30 minutes to go to my 2nd Ohio N-Scale weekend. Looking forward to it as this year I have three modules ready to go. I also finished up the Galesburg Tribute locomotive last night so I could bring it along and get some exposure for the show. Looking forward for this weekend packed with N scale.

So how about you? What are your model railroad plans for this weekend? Are you going to the Ohio N-Scale Weekend? Stop by the NSBN T-Trak display and say hi. We'll all come back on Monday the 19th and see how we all did. Until then, have a happy safe weekend and...

    High Greens!

Well, my Boston Bruins are out of the playoffs, so I won't be watching much hockey. The weather looks pretty dismal, too, so I won't be riding my bicycle or cleaning up the yard, either. Soooooooo.....I should have time for trains. I'm still working on that depot. I've still got some windows and doors to add, and the foundation trim, but the big job is shingling the roof. That's about a third done. It's one of those things I don't enjoy much, but hopefully I can just sit down for a while and git 'er done.

Last night I glued tall field grass between the rails of the siding that serves the tannery. This is stiffer than static grass, and serves as a "car brake" to hold cars in place. Now that almost all my rolling stock has nice metal wheels and tuned trucks, they like to roll around and the field grass is a good way to keep them in place on sidings.

I shouldn't waste this limited space of bandwidth, but I guess I will anyways.

Bought 7 more N scale cars, sold 5 HO cars but a locomotive. Not going to.list any more as I will be heading to the beach a week from now, don't want to have any sales delayed due to my absence.

I pulled out more HO equipment last night and got them set out and arranged in lots.

I received a package of 25-3' strips of cork roadbed yesterday. Still watching out for switches. My plan has around 26 switches on it, and as everyone knows the Code 55 switches are impossible to find other than PECO. Might handlay "in the dark" (no jig) with just gages and rail.

Sat. morning a trip to the LHS for 2 pieces of code 83 flex track, and start making the floor for a roundhouse. Maybe a trip to an "art supply" store for molding plaster. If not then start on sub assemblies for the building. (metal Suydam kit, 5 stalls), Bobby

I will be continuing to secure my unitrack to my layout base. I am half way done. Hopefully I can start ballasting my track where I' am placing my tunnel so I can finish my mountain base work.

As well as cleaning my track for flawless slow speed running.
