Welcome back everyone! I'm pleased to announce that finally, finally, at least here in my section of the Midwest, it is warm! In fact humid and summer like. So pull up a chair, grab some cold lemonade, tea or water and let's get started planning the weekend.

Saturday: Friday is my last day off before we resume our normal schedule at the dealership, so today I plan on working on the B&M cassette/bridge for my shuffle yard. Tomorrow it will, hopefully, be business as usual.

Sunday: Not sure on the weather yet, but if my garage project finishes up, I would like to start painting the exterior of the B&M layout shadow box.

So how about you? What do you have planned for this coming weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble once again on Monday the 18th to see how we all did. Until then, stay safe, stay healthy and as always...

    High Greens!

Well - the E8's will be wrapped up. You get to a point where it ain't gonna get any better -(Or worse) - so, time to call it a day and finish 'em off.

I will also be workin on my SW900 and SW8.

Where I left off (E8's are lurking in the back ground - LOL)

This weekend I plan on installing the deck bridge I finished last weekend and weathered during this past week. The photo shows where it will go. The abutments I have and will be using "Chooch" double track abutments that I may color and weather. The piers I have not yet had made and will use common lumber cut to fit until I can get proper piers made. Future piers will probably be the base from a 3-D printer and the piers custom milled/routed from hard maple. I have so many projects now for this RR I have to pick/choose my battles for time. Given I have 0 interest in casting my own, I'll leave that to someone else while I focus on advancing the layout.

Like where Jim is it's warm and humid here in NE Missouri. No sunshine though.
Gotta work today and tomorrow. On Sunday after cooking and house chores I'll tackle some modeling. Got a paint project that needs some touching up, a striped model that needs a primer coat and several car kits to be assembled. We'll see. I could use an extra day off.

My plan of attack is to complete my KEY Challenger re-furbish/re-paint project so that I can move on to my SP GS-1 bash.

Here is where I am at with the project. I am not too happy with the darker color that KEY put on the smoke box so I may paint with the same color I used on the firebox. I have smoke lifters to attach. The pics show some spots that need touch up. So here is UP #3982......................

I'm hoping I can install my roundhouse tracks inside and connect to the turntable, and finish my first generation diesel servicing tower.
Here is where I am on my module. I have installed the diesel servicing track behind the depot, and am waiting for the ballast matte medium to dry :

Here is how far i got with the diesel servicing tower yesterday:

And here is the prototype first generation diesel servicing tower. It's very different than servicing towers in use today:

I did finally get the shifter rebuild done. I am like Kitbash, so many projects calling out. I am going to upgrade rolling stock to the last iteration of combined coupler retaining pin configuration, the so called "G6" component. I desperately need cabooses. The next power will be a mogul. And so on....

I plan on working on the passenger station this weekend and for variety may additionally start on another kind of station soon:

I liked this kit and had a spot for it, so bought one before I semi retired. Now, I've kind of got the bug to start on it, so I'll be splitting my time between "little Potter Street" and "little M13".

I have nothing specific thought out yet. I need to put some finishing touches on some express reefers. I guess maybe I will just try to run some trains. I am kicking around some ideas for a new diorama.

Some of my most productive weekends or modeling sessions have come when I walked into either my workshop or layout room and didn't have a clue as to what I was going to do. Brew a cup of coffee early in the morning, look at your stuff, and it will come to you.

Won’t accomplish much this weekend, but the wife is going to take the kids and spend a week at her mom and dads house, so I’m going binge on basement prep next week.

First thing is to resolve a flicker in the lighting that was completed and turned on this week. I suspect a loose or bad breaker. Next is to connect lights and outlets into a new breaker for the layout area. Them frame a wall for the bathroom and for my wife’s craft room.

I wouldnt rule out some benchwork late in the week.

Plan on finishing up the electrical sub station this weekend. I have plenty to do after that but I am not sure what I will dig into next.

I will be finishing the small details on the squadron building this weekend as well as start painting up another backdrop. I have a clinic to give on backdrops in a month. I also have started writing articles up so I have one of those to finish and then start a third. Been a while since I’ve done any writing like this.

No plans. Thinking perhaps I'll just kick back and let the two days flow as they might.
