Welcome back to the gateway to the weekend. Last weekend, a few of us were busy. New club cars, construction of freight cars, more layout design and a few train shows too. What do we have planned this weekend? Don't forget, this Sunday is Mother's Day, so treat all the Mums in your life with something special. Let's get started.

Saturday: Work on vehicles continues. The Falcon has new wheel bearings, and the rear axle has been drained, cleaned and ready for reassembly. Once that is completed, we'll get her to a transmission shop to fix a seal leak. The F150 is still waiting for its wheels from the sandblaster, until then, I have new calipers, rotors and pads I need to install as well as new head lights. I hope to finish it next weekend as I need to build my rack for the NTrak modules soon. After all of that, we will probably see Grandma and treat her to dinner for Mother's Day.

Sunday: I hope I have more energy this weekend versus last weekend. My goal is to clear off the static grass from my NTrak module and using paper, plan out my building and street placement. My goal is to have a dead-end street leading to the tracks with three mid-century era houses on one side and a warehouse on the other that is built by the spur I installed. I hope to get started on painting and laying down the streets, sidewalk and concrete area for the warehouse. I hope to work on that all morning before heading outside and working on the lawn. I'll probably treat my wife to a nice lunch or dinner for Mother's Day before calling it a day.

So how about you, what do you have planned this Mother's Day weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Monday, the 13th to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, be safe, stay healthy and...

    HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

    Happy Friday all,
No big plans for the weekend. Maybe work on doing some decals again Friday evening.
Saturday, would like to fit in a trip to the LHS if possible. Need to extend the drain line for the AC units out past the corner of the house so we can redo some landscaping. Picked up the pipe and connectors for that last night and should be easy enough. Laundry, groceries, and of course the search for a Mothers Day card and some flowering plants for the wife. Then plan on firing up the grill Saturday afternoon.
Sunday may see some additional decal work I hope, Lots of coffee and maybe just run trains. Family stuff in the afternoon/evening and that will pretty much fill the time.

Hope you all have a great weekend!!!

I don’t see a lot of railroading this weekend.

Saturday will be my daughter’s soccer game and hopefully a little bit of yard work-I’ve got to do a bit of weeding. If it’s warm enough I’ll finish fixing up my boat. If not, I’ll tackle a little bit of chores and volunteer work that has piled up over the last couple of weeks.

Sunday-depending on what my wife and the kids want to do, we may go out during by the day for some activities. I’ve already made dinner reservations for Mother’s Day and sent off my gift to my Mom. At some point my wife and I will need to call our Mom’s too.

I got the latest copy of MR yesterday so I’d like to finish that. Glanced at One of the track plans and it looked interesting and might generate some thoughts on finishing the tweaks to mine.

Good morning all! Happy weekend again. Not much model RR work in the stars for me this weekend. We are leaving for a vacation in a few days and won't have much time for the workshop or train room. Plus my son will be here while we're gone so he's coming over to get his marching orders. It will be "honey-do city" around here for sure the next couple of days. I did start a couple of flat-car loads this week. I may get a little time to advance those some, but that's hopeful.

A great weekend to you and yours.

    Hey All,

Weekend will be one day long this week, thanks to some work travel. I received a number of decals from PDC for a "Frisco Refrigerator Line" ice bunker refrigerator car, which I'll build from a bash of this "Marshall Kirby & Co" Atlas model (with apologies to Terre Haute). I also had some decals arrive for my "Wichita & Northwestern" projects (MoW cars, a GP-15 repaint). I'll work on some mix of those.

    Have a good one All,

Good morning from sunny and cool Northeast Ohio!

Will be going soon to take my wife to the doctor's office about a rash on her face. Afterwards need to dullcoat and assemble a couple of cars that I decaled this past week. Then to start assembly on a pair of Walther's RS-2's I just received.

Saturday, going to the club will be spending time getting ready for the NMRA Regional Convention visit next weekend by cleaning up the train room and track. Later will be continuing work on the RS-2's and a brass caboose for them to haul around.

Sunday, doing some housework and more of the same on the RS-2's and caboose and whatever freight car I want to build.

    Good morning everyone,

We are finally having some decent weather here so maybe I can bag up the train room electric heater and put it up for the season. Getting the luggage down from the attic storeroom and making other final preparations for an upcoming trip will take up much of my time and energy this weekend.

I have been working on some graphics for some new packaged lumber loads for the center beam flat cars that I recently acquired so any time in the train room will likely revolve around work on that.

Everyone have a great weekend whatever you are doing.

Tomorrow morning our Scout Troop has swim tests ahead of summer camp. Once that's done I'll probably spend the rest of the day prepping the last of my uncle's collection for the Pensacola Railfest next weekend. If you are in the area, I'll have two dealer tables full of HO standard and narrow gauge goodies, books and DVDs that need new homes. I am also hoping to get a few minutes filming the TTrak and other layouts set up there.

Back home in NY after wintering over at our Southern villa. First a ton of yard work, then time to go through the closets and drawers to pull out items no longer needed for the community yard sale. Rain is in the forecast for Saturday, so if I get the other chores done, I hope to get some time on the layout. All the locos and rolling stock are still stored away, so track cleaning is first, then sweeping and vacuuming, since there will be plenty of dust and more than a few dead bugs, and hopefully no rodent droppings. Once that is done, I'll pull a few cars and locos out of storage for a test drive.

Because it is so hard finding a new doctor in the rapidly growing area where we spent the winter, next week is filled up with appointments that I delayed until our return home. If there's time between them and the household chores, I'll get back to going through the inventory and pulling out items to sell off. I started clearing out some of the overstock last fall, but didn't get too far. I plan to limit what I offer at any one time to make packing and shipping easier.

There probably won't be very much in the way of layout operations for a while. I traditionally don't do much in the summer, but now with no operating in the winter months, either, I suspect to be in the layout room a little more often on warm muggy days. Good to be back in the modeling world again and reconnecting after lurking for several months. There was some fine modeling done while I was away from the hobby. I made sure to "like" everyone's efforts.

Bonus weekend! I expected to be out of town. Plans have changed and I hope to take advantage of the opportunity. No real schedule as of yet. We are going to take a walk in the warm, sunny weather this morning. Then off to a meeting with the architect working on the new train room. With house attached! We have three soccer matches to watch between now and Monday afternoon.

The outdoor furniture will be unwrapped later today. Otherwise, I need to have a think about what to do. The domes for the boiler need to be finished. After I decide how to go about it, there may be supplies to purchase. Cars could stand to be washed. I am sure there is a long list of items I am forgetting about at the moment.

Not to be overlooked is Mother's Day on Sunday. I will need to converse with my son about what is happening.

Report on Monday. Pictures if appropriate.

    Stay safe,

One thing I want to do this weekend if I have some time is experiment with the idea of adding a helix down to a lower level of the layout I'm working on for a spare bedroom.

Since I like both BNSF and UP railroads I'd love to make this a two level layout with BNSF trains running on the top level (shown below) and UP trains running on the lower level (yet to be drawn). The red line at the top of the layout could be where the UP line breaks off and goes to a hidden track that leads to the helix (dashed red line). Since the upper level is more rural I'm thinking the lower level where UP operates could be me urban/city with a lot more switching and local freight.

Nothing special planned either. The weather's too good!

It will be good to relax after an intense couple of weeks at work, finally getting the project done early Thursday morning. What a relief!

I'll probably take on whatever item (of the half-dozen or so) I think needs evacuating from the workbench first or the one that could benefit the most advancement. My modeling activities have been chaotic at best lately...:cautious:
