It's time to assemble and lay out on the table what we have planned for this coming weekend! Sorry I did not get anything posted on Monday, it had been a rather expensive and bad weekend. Saturday I got a fair amount done on the layout and what was supposed to be a relaxing Sunday watching Jared play soccer turned into a very long, expensive and exhausting day. Long story short, the alternator on the Cherokee died and left us stranded 122 miles from home. We got a ride and a tow home and Monday was spent borrowing a friends truck to get and subsequently install a new alternator. Yes you may say, "Serves you right for driving an old truck." but honestly, mechanical problems happen to any vehicle and lets not forget, I was using this "tired old Jeep" because the the new wiz-bang GM platform my Fiance has, blew its engine. Jeep is fixed, and we are still waiting for the GM to get fixed with a new engine so life is kind of back to normal. Now for this weekend: No Friday's off for me for a few weeks as my regular job is within the busy trade show season, so my weekend will start at a traditional time this weekend. With Easter in there this weekend, progress of my modules will no doubt be hindered somewhat. The first show is next weekend and I'm nowhere close to where I should be as life has been super busy these last three months. I'm hoping to get more of the styrene streets and concrete industrial areas done this weekend as well as paint and weather them. That is all I'm planning on this weekend, lets see if I can get them done with as few distractions as possible. So how about you? What do you have planned this Easter Weekend? Track planning? Scenery? HO scale Easter Egg Hunts? Let us know. We'll all come back on Monday the 28th to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, stay safe and... Happy Easter! High Greens!
Doing my second ESU LokSound install this weekend -- a Kato Mikado (SP #3304). Have had this unit for over 6 years, and it has been sitting on the "dead" track next to the roundhouse (dead zone of the Walther's turntable). Finally decided to put the new drivers on it, and install a decoder (and finish adding all the detailing)
During this past week, I have been painting my Walthers co-op shed. Sometime this weekend I'd assemble it and will probably start on the laser kit for the elevator and the Rix kit for the Butler bins and their elevators.
Now that I have the Evergreen .040 sheets (12" X 24") - I can "pour" the concrete foundations/parking lots for my Sunkist and Purina plants. I then can put down the first of the dirt in my switch complex. It is a great feeling to finally get started on scenery. Looking forward to finally covering the plywood. Thanks, Wolf
Converting three MinitrainS passenger cars, (HOn30), truck mounted couplers to Micro-Trains (N scale) body mounts.
It's been so wet that the basement leaked and got the carpet wet in the trainroom so no modeling. Boxing up stuff and then take out the furniture. There's mushrooms growing in the carpet where it go wet. Sprayed 'em with Lysol and it killed 'em The carpet gets ripped out anfer the furniture is out.
Just way too much rain. We got a years rain in four months. The ground is just soaked I do have a plan this summer to hopefully correct the problem
