Welcome back to the gateway to the weekend. I hope those with illness are recovering and we are all ready for some time in the train room. Let's get started.

Saturday: The wife has informed me that I have been working too much and as such has planned a day for me. After I sleep in and enjoy my coffee, she wants to go to the Wabash station in Decatur which is now a large antique store. Little does she realize the proximity to WABAC junction and the large amount of railfan activity. I do enjoy looking for items at antique stores and having the train connection will be that much better. She has assured me however it will not be an all-day affair as she knows I need to work on some things in the shop.

Sunday: Nothing planned as Angela's grandmother celebrates her 93rd birthday. Between the three-hour driving time and festivities, I doubt there will be much time for anything else.

So how about you? What do you have planned for the weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Monday the 24th to see how we did and what we accomplished. Until then, have a great weekend, stay healthy and safe and as always...

    High Greens!

Happy Friday to Y'all - and welcome to spring!!

My dear friend found another O scale 1912 model T panel truck for me to assemble for him. So, I will be working on it this weekend.

Y'all have a great and safe weekend,

    Saturday-sleep, kid’s volleyball practice, errands/chores, volunteer work.

Sunday-finish the track plan? I had a couple of ideas over the week that I wrote down so I can fiddle with them this weekend.

Good morning and happy NCAA Basketball Tourney weekend!

Tomorrow afternoon.. the Mrs. and I scored 2 tickets to go the Women's NCAA first round basketball tourney here in Raleigh. We'll head over to the campus to see the NC State women's team take on Vermont. Other than that, the weekend should be all modeling.

This weekend the theme is Air Brushing. I have put it off for various "things" the past past many weekends. I've got too many projects depending on the air brush and it is gumming up the works not getting done. This week I did finish framing the upper level of the coal branch and it is now ready for the last pieces of plywood. So, I'll need to start thinking about ordering some 1/4" sheet cork as well as finalizing the track plan.

Have a great and enjoyable weekend.

Happy Friday all! Sure feels like it's been an extra long week and still several hours to go. Cold here today but supposed to be in the 70's Saturday and Sunday so will make a run to pick up some more yard work supplies after work to try and finish up the yard work we have been doing in the evenings this week.

Saturday will be coffee and trains early followed by yard work, errands and other chores. In the morning, I will be prepping items that need to be painted or need a flat finish clear coat applied since late afternoon should be perfect of doing that.

Sunday will be coffee and trains again and if all goes well Saturday, should be doing some kit assembly and running trains. Also have to take the kid back to his dorm. He's been home all week on spring break and after all the yard work, he's probably ready to go back.

Hope you all have a great weekend!!!!!

    Good morning everyone,

Right now lots of energy going into planning our next trip. Other than running a few trains, I don't have much planned in the train room for this weekend. We'll see, I may get inspired to do something

Wishing you all a great weekend whatever you are doing.

Good morning from sunny and cold Northeast Ohio, did not get the snow that we had a chance of getting last night.

Friday, will be working on applying the third color to a PS1 boxcar I am building and painting a G39 Ore Jimmy. Tonight we get our payoff for the bowling season and am done bowling until the senior tournament in May.

Saturday, we have our club's monthly meeting followed by an op session and that is probably all I will get done modeling wise today.

Sunday, Laundry and getting ready for our Amtrak trip this week to Vancouver, WA for a week and then onto Denver for a week, this will be do visit the kids and then back home to Ohio.

I have been working on trying to get the Walthers Proto F7A and F7B running smoothly the last couple of nights. I took the A unit apart and found the trucks overloaded with grease. I need to clean them out. Many thanks to those folks on here who have been giving me a helping hand.

Not sure what is happening this weekend. There is laundry to do and begin some spring-cleaning chores. If the weather is cooperative, I can dissemble the wind destroyed gazebo. We will have some errands to run such as the grocery store.

I will continue working on the F-units and hopefully get them to run smoothly. I have a couple of new locomotives I want to test and break-in. I need to paint and weather some tracks before I can place ballast. I also have some areas where I need to fix the ballast. For a change of pace, I might work on assembling some rolling stock kits and station platforms and maybe the Trade Tower structure.

WABAC junction gonna' be good! Model T panel truck sounds cool. Good luck with the track plan. (y) I am the Mayor of "Putting things off". Always good to start the day with trains and a beverage. ;) Running trains is always a worthy goal. (y) Sounds like a fine family visit train trip. Glad the loco problems are being sorted out. :) Somehow, this last week seemed go sideways for a bit. I went to the apartment laundry room early Tuesday morning and the whole room was broken (all machines were offline)! Successful second attempt early Wednesday morning. (y) Have been suffering with "Spring Fever". Good dental visit Thursday. :) Neighbor kid's toy repair was accomplished (happy to do it). (y) And some other darn thing I can't remember (Spring Fever). Here and there was designing and building a new turnout design. Discovered a major flaw and went back to the drawing board. Family visit Saturday. I plan to work some on the turnout as well. Have a fun weekend. :D

I didn't post last weekend as we were visiting my daughter in Philadelphia. The trip was planned for a while, but we ended up celebrating her new job on the veterinary staff of Seattle's Woodland Park Zoo. We are very excited to have her returning west soon after several years away. I did score some unplanned train activity. Rode Acela from Philadelphia to New York and back. Spent the day at the Museum of Natural History. Nice trip. Before our flight home on Wednesday, we checked out the Franklin Institute which houses Baldwin 60000, a 4-10-2 demonstrator built around 1926. It has been in the institute since making a tour of the country to test interest from the railroads. In excellent cosmetic condition and setup to allow up close viewing.

Now for this weekend. I am nearly done with my smoke box cover drawing for the Mikado.

While I don't have a daily agenda, I hope to complete the drawing. Then start turning some brass. Undecided on how to model the clamps. I briefly considered nut-bolt-washers, but decided it was both very complex and would require magnification to even notice.

    Full report on Monday.

    Embrace the journey,

I've started detailing the golf course ( trees etc) and will do a bit more on that and finish the famous Tapton footbridge. Railfan Mecca for decades

Planning to get up to the train room this weekend for the first time in three weeks. Got a little bit of energy back after having Covid, Influenza A & B and pneumonia (can't recall ever having been quite that sick in my life), so this weekend I plan on working on bridges, track and some scenery starting tomorrow.

After painting the track, gluing down the roadbed last night & screwing down the track. The first 1 of 2 reverse loops is complete.
The weekend turnouts & track drops will be wired & powered.

Heavy Equipment refresher training. Sat, Bulldozer refresher training. I have some experience from the ARMY digging 3-tiered defensive positions for Tanks on Tank Ranges (24 years in the US ARMY ARMOR BRANCH M1A1/A2).

Sun, Excavator training (for the large one as I have no experience). Mini ones I've used a lot, but these larger ones are a lot different.

Going to need refresher training on the large Front End Loader as well (as soon as it gets delivered). I've operated them before in the ARMY, but safety is important, so a refresher course will be nice.

Training will be performed by the owners of the equipment. Looking forward to it (altho, it's supposed to SNOW again tomorrow lol).

I have not touched the layout in a few weeks. My next project is to add track to the Colton diamond area.
