Brrrr! Note: the following info was put under last Monday's thread. I understand. I was on here early Monday and missed the post(s). I suspect @dti406 wears a blue undershirt with a red "S" on it. @SP-Wolf is the truck man. (y) Changing couplers is important. Convention bound! :p Grand Canyon train looks sharp! :) Nice quiet VOLCANO! I have done some "staring" myself. Where to begin? The three locomotives now have steam cylinders and valve chests, Stephenson type. ;) Boiler top appliances are next (I think). :cautious: Recently I began to think about expanding from one module (one foot by three foot). to two or more. I had planned to use my craft table but when I got the hobby laser, I put the printer on it. So, what to do? I think I can still use it but I came up with another idea. :D Some years ago I bought an N-scale magazine at a train show. The mag had an article about making a box beam table out of one inch "blue foam". I made one of thirty inches by five feet. Intending to use it if one of my grandsons wanted to run N-scale, it was put in storage. The other day I realized I could use the box beam table by making it adjacent to the current module table/variable desk. :ROFLMAO: I will need to raise the beam table by five inches to make it the same height as the current module shelf or lower the module shelf. I decided to raise the beam table. With that in mind, earlier today (Friday), I bought some one quarter inch all thread to cut into three-inch lengths. All of this expansion and other project work will need to fit in with fishing. Wish me luck. Have a great weekend. :D

Good afternoon from cloudy and mild Northeast Ohio!

Went to a rummage sale at the church where my late brother-in-law was pastor in Ruggles, OH, they did not have power after a storm/tornado took out some power lines but my wife found a few items to purchase.

Later today hope to paint a couple of cars and start decaling a 50' boxcar that I painted earlier in the week. Also resumed building a Red Caboose X29 Boxcar kit that I started years ago.

Saturday, will be going to the club and later will be working on the decal project.

Sunday more of the same, but laundry duty calls which most of the time gives me a time to paint cars in between loads of laundry.

Happy Friday! 4 o'clock can't get here fast enough. The knee is feeling a little better so I plan on heading down to the workbench for some train therapy this weekend. Got more 36" metal wheel sets this week so looking forward to updating some more cars. Also got a few that are 28" wheels. Going to give those a shot on a pair of articulated auto racks and see how they do. Other than running some trains, not sure what else i will do train related. We had a few repairs don to the deck this week and the contractor repainted the entire floor of the deck this morning and said stay off of it until Monday so that means I am off the hook for firing up the grill on Father's Day. If the family has plans for that, I have not been informed of them yet so we shall just wait and see.

Hope you all have a great weekend and Happy Father's Day to all you dad's out there.

I hope to build out the corner. Lower level is 24" deep and Upper 16" deep. I plan to use a couple "C" type supports from 3/4" ply connecting to the 1/2" ply table tops to create a double deck module. These sections seem a bit boring as its just a bunch of track. The interest will show in the end modules.

Today's plan is an NMRA division meeting and possibly a brief demo of a couple projects that are nearly production ready (found a software bug this morning during testing for the demo).

Tomorrow will likely be debugging the software bug and then a quick trip out of town for some shopping (bigger city, more options, etc).

And a longer term project which I need to start planning now so I can have it ready for NMRA National Convention in Long Beach CA 2024. I'm going to build my new layout as modules which I can possibly take with me to the convention as a live demo layout for the projects I'm working on currently (commercial projects to be announced later this summer and on the market in the fall). The layout will be fully DCC and LCC controlled using only an RJ45 cable (LCC) and a 2 wire connector (DC) between modules with each module having a couple LCC nodes (DCC generator, block detection, railcom detection, signals, turnouts, etc). As I get through the design phases of the various moving parts I'll share more details on this.

This weekend we have a little bit of grocery shopping. I need think about what other plants I want for the front garden and then get them and finally plant them. We have some general cleaning to do around the house since the pride events are over and the house is no longer a staging area. Of course there is the never ending laundry to keep one busy.

I have a bunch of Athearn rolling stock that needs to have the plastic couplers removed and replaced with Kadee couplers. These cars also need to checked and tuned up if necessary along with some more from other manufacturers. I would like to run some trains and maybe had DCC to a loco or two.
