Look out! Watch your back! It's Friday the 13th! No need to worry about all that superstitious stuff, we are here to talk about the weekend and specifically, what we want to do with our model railroads. let's get started.

Saturday: The high temps and high humidity come back so my time in the workshop should be at an all time high. I've been busy the past week working on my B&M modules. I really need to come up with a name for them! So far my main road is down and Murphy Manufacturing has it's parking lot as well as the truck apron down. Basic landscaping for the building is done and ready for ground foam and a tree. Curbing is down, the interior detail inside Murphy Manufacturing is done and the crossing is done. Goal for Saturday? Glue down the polystyrene sheet that will be the area for the gas station and build two new structure kits. The first is an old Micro Engineering brass and resin 1950's era gas station. I've had this kit nearly 20 years and have waited for the perfect excuse to build it. I also have a Walthers Cape Cod house kit, because a New Hampshire inspired layout certainly needs this style of house.

Sunday: Mixed in with various domestic duties, I hope to fire up the airbrush and paint the areas that make up the various parking areas and such spoke of above. I also need to spend some time and work on the switch list and some other viewing material so I'm ready for next Friday's RPM meet.

So how about you? What do you have on the list for this weekend? Track work, scenery or a show? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Monday the 16th to see how well we all did. Until then, stay cool and safe, have fun and as always...

    High Greens!

After last week this is looking better. Today I hope to build the trees I wanted to do last week. Sunday I really need to get the roundhouse wired.

Thanks to Rick B, I now have wheelsets enough to finish a few freight cars. Also, will possibly add a few details to a couple of Shapeways shells and could even get so far as getting them primered.

A few little things on the layout this weekend.

    • Finishing another batch of Atlas N Scale line side poles, extending their height with styrene tube.
    • Working on a small section house kit that I started last week. May need to pick up some paint for that.
    • Working on a pair of 3D printed dump bottom trailers that I received this week from Shapeways.
    • Will be receiving some Tichy crossing crossbucks today so placing them on the layout.
I'm taking some photos as I work and will have something to post on Monday, and will likely make some for detailed post on my blog in the near future.
