We've just about made it through another work week! Time to see what is on our project list!

Since beginning my new job, I'm finally having a normal weekend and not having to to go in on Saturday. I originally had planned to help out Angela at this weekend's model airplane meet called e-Fest. While I have almost completely cut ties with this hobby, my sweetheart still works in it and as a result, her company is the one putting it on. Jess my Jeep however (who never liked planes) had other ideas and has me working on replacing all her brake lines on Saturday. Hopefully, I can get Jess done in time to go see Angela and a few other friends Saturday. Sunday is more of e-Fest and I plan on helping out with the clean up crew. Despite all those distractions, I'm moving along nicely with my Galesburg project. Last night I got the majority of the track down with only three more turnouts and a few pieces of spur track left. I'm hopping to get all my drops connected to the main bus soon and perform a test run between the two modules, then it's on to module three.

So how about you? What projects do you have lined up for the weekend? Track work? DCC? Maybe a bit of scenery? Who is lucky enough to be going to the big Springfield MA show this weekend at the Big E? You lucky devils that are going, let us know and give us a report Monday. Until then, have a great and safe weekend and...

I'll be working on continuing to lay track on my new N scale layout. Unfortunately, I have a piece that is being rather difficult (the bottom half of the reverse loop in the middle), so for the 2nd time, I am going to have to pull it up (and surrounding track) to re-lay it. Once I can get this piece figured out and working nicely, all I have left is the yard and industries.

When I need a break from that, I'll likely either work on a structure, or my layout web site.

I am also on the hunt for wiring for the layout, so hopefully will be able to find that this weekend or at least get it ordered if I go that route.

I will be working with my nephew between pee wee basketball practices and church activities to finalize his new track plan on the N-Scale layout he wants. Originally we were working towards an HO layout but he decided he wants N-Scale now so he can put the layout in his bedroom away from his three younger sisters. (Can't say that I blame him there)

Lots of work went into the HO plans and now we are working up a good N-Scale plan he will be happy with.

I need to finish soldering the track together for the Bufkin's Bayou Bridge, so that I can get the track all put back together and get back to limited running of trains. Then its finishing up the terraforming for the bayou, and finishing dropping feeders to the track on section 2 of the layout.

I also need to finish my basement reorg so I can get the airbrush station set back up.

I guess I'll start building sagebrush trees to go in front of the passenger station, homes and in front of the freight station down the street.

Foo. I was planning to go to the big train show in West Springfield on Saturday, but Mother Nature is planning a snowfall, somewhere between 3-6 and 8-12 inches, depending on your forecaster. I'm not going to drive 2 hours each way under those conditions. Sunday, I'm heading up north to go skiing, so that's my weekend. Of course, I can do a bit of modeling instead of driving in the snow in a car which doesn't do well in it. Perhaps, now, if I had a railfan Jeep, I might reconsider.

So, in the "endless weekend" of retirement, I'm putting up the Miller Engineering sign with the Coppertone girl and her little dog on top of Paceline Manufacturing. That sign would never pass muster in today's environment, but it's an iconic symbol of the Transition Era.
