Welcome back to the gateway to the weekend. I hope you all had a great week and are now ready to settle down and plan out what you wish to accomplish in the train room. Lots of great photos from Monday's accomplishments thread so let's keep it going.

Saturday: With the major maintenance finished on the Falcon, I plan to keep it easy as this is the last weekend before I head to Massachusetts for the Amherst Railroad Hobby Show. I drove the Falcon twice last week into the office and she is running great. I love this car! I started fiddling around again with the small N scale switching layout yesterday by applying a layer of 1/8-inch cork down on the surface. I may work a bit on that. I'll need to go to the big hardware store for a few supplies while Ang works. Saturday night is date night so Ang and I will have a nice quiet dinner as we both have been working long hours and have not spent much time together.

Sunday: Will probably be the same, relaxed approach to the day. It will involve coffee and probably a podcast or two. It is supposed to snow here so no working in the garage. I'm in the mood to play with the N scale and may just do that. I'll mainly just relax with the wife and dogs before I head out east on Thursday.

So how about you? What do you have planned this weekend? Workbench work? Layout work? Maybe a show? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Monday the 23rd to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, be safe, stay healthy and as always...

    High Greens!

    Happy Friday to Y'all

We are supposed to have a clear weekend (No rain) - so, I have to add another coat on our deck. Saturday: clean the deck (Again). And, hopefully put away Christmas.
And - put a clear coat on the FA/FB's
Saturday evening: Dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

Sunday: Celebrate our 41st wedding anniversary. (Wedding date (01/22/1982)
Afternoon, put said coating on our deck.
And - hopefully somewhere in between - start cutting out cab windows for the FA's.

    Y'all have a spectacular weekend,
    Wolf

Greetings all. I've got many projects underway. This weekend I will let the Saturday morning coffee "walk around the layout" dictate what happens. Report on Monday.

Everyone have a great, great weekend.

Good morning from cloudy and wintry mix Northeast Ohio!

Friday, hope to get some gloss coat on a gon for decaling later this weekend and start decaling a 40' boxcar along with constructing a Proto 2000 covered hopper kit and an Atlas boxcar kit. After that it is bowling tonight and I hope it goes better than Tuesday night.

Saturday, we have our monthly club meeting followed by a op session which should be fun. Later I will be working on decaling and finishing up other projects.

Sunday, will have to do some cleaning in the house along with finishing the tax return as I should get some 1099's over the weekend. Then onto some decaling and construction work.

Today, Friday, I have homework, a funeral service for a cousin in Youngstown, then more homework. Tons of reading assigned this week. I've probably read close to 100 pages already and still have at least that much left to do, plus watch several assigned videos.

Saturday, I'll be reading... but also a birthday lunch at Red Robin for my Mother-in-law.

Sunday is church, possibly some time at the Sebring Model Railroad Club, and most likely... more homework.

Moose's plan? Moose has a plan?
    o_O

    Friday:
Attend Seattle home and garden show so Mrs Moose can develop ways to spend da Moose savings. Moose has been practicing ways to hide the checkbook without looking guilty of hiding it, or guilty of anything else for that matter...
    :cautious:

    Saturday:
EDIT: da Mooses will be going to the Great Train Show in Puyallup!
Hopefully continue bashing a wee generic 0-6-0 switcher into something, anything slightly resembling GN A-9 ... And hopefully not falling prey to the cement and putty fumes...

    Sunday:
More work on the locomotive Moose suspects, along with perhaps preparing other locomotives for thier inevitable alterations to greatness...
    :sneaky:

I'll be travelling home on Saturday and will for sure put in some time trackside along the way. Sunday will include a lot of time doing laundry. Hope to get some time on the layout but no specific plans there.

Hope you all have a great weekend!!!!

    Good morning all,

A happy 41st wedding anniversary to Wolf and Mrs. Wolf !

Having tinkered and tested the Point to Point system I am satisfied that it will be ready for AsiaNrail setup in April. I'll be taking down the modules I have set up to test it in the middle of the layout room and pack it all away. Need to make up some good notes on it's operation so I don't forget.

I feel like doing something not so fiddley so it may be time to put the tempered hard board wrap around the upper helix this weekend. This will allow finished scenery to start on the east end of the layout.

Wishing everyone a great weekend whatever you end up doing.

The big "Amherst". Cool. Congratulations on forty-one years! :) Seems like coffee should dictate the chain of events. Covered hopper! My hormones are all aquiver. (Did I just type that in public?) Did you say homework? Avoiding looking guilty. Excellent skill to develop. (y) One thing about laundry, it's always laundry... AsiaNrail. Sounds cool. At last the latest fifty-ton hopper is done. The side sheets, both inside and out, are laser cut. Improved reporting marks are on the sides. An overall neater appearance is seen. This may be more evident regarding the side ribs. Also in the mix are improved end frames. The pic shows the newest hopper in the center. The hopper on the left is the worst of the old lot. The one on the right was the best of the old batch. After I took the pic, I noticed a lot of daylight over the center beam. Oh well. The boss said, "Run it!" (y) This pic was taken on the test track which was set on the front side of the module. I hope everybody has a warm and fun weekend. :D

This weekend, I am planning to get a bunch of work on the layout:

Friday -- I spent part of the day today naming the trains properly with their symbols -- and getting those put into JMRI, I also played a bit with the signal system in Rolling Line -- I have more to learn there but I have one working signal -- but I want to get more working.

I also am busy filtering cars into the east yard to start getting things populated and really get operations kicked off -- im still debugging JMRI to make sure things are set up right -- Yesterday, I got my arrival track working right as well as the yard job.

Beyond that -- I need to continue making liveries, Re-arrange the storage yard so I can see the numbers on the well cars and keep working on placeholder structures for businesses

If I get bored amongst it all, there is a blog to update as well as the layout party update to write

Also the IMSA Roar before the 24 is this weekend at Daytona, and theres basketball tonight and football tomorrow and sunday

This weekend I am operating on the contingency approach.

Plan A: My wife feels better.
Saturday: We will watch an early morning soccer match. Then off to the Great Train Show in Puyallup. Next stop will be her mother's house for the evening.

Sunday: We will attend a "Wedding Showcase" representing our daughter. I believe it means tasting a very large variety and quantity of food to select that perfect combination for the post-ceremony dinner. Tough duty, but I have trained for this my whole life.

    On the other hand...

Plan B: My wife does not feel better.
Saturday: In that case, we will watch an early morning soccer match. Then I will continue working on the drivers for UP 2295. Monday, I shared a photo of tooling setup Rev. B. Here is Rev. C.

Much better. Note how flat and smooth the counterweight is. Yes, I am happy.

Sunday: I will attend the "Wedding Showcase" alone. I think I can handle it.

    Stay safe,

My goal for the weekend is to simply set the first level of my helix and begin track install. If I want to keep going its a simple stacking of the next few levels. Before moving to any other benchwork I plan to have the helix complete so the need to access it will be minimized.
