Hey it's Friday once again and we all know what that means! Time to discuss what we have planned in the train room.

With a wedding only a few short eight months away, I have to take off work today to help my bride to be finalize some things but I'm planning on sneaking in a trip to the hobby shop. I need one more decoder so I can go ahead and install two decoders into both of the Paducahs I have built.

Decals are done on both units, I just need to finish the number boards on the one. A trip back to the spray booth for some flat clear, then all I need to do is final assembly, decoder installation and programming and then off to work they go on a layout. Having learned so much on these, I plan to build Rock Island #4710, a chop nose GP9 and a Maine Central chop nose GP7. Hopefully I can get those done by May.

I also need to get some more work on the modules done. I'm almost done with the cork foundation and need to invest some time into sanding and fixing one high spot on some adjoining track. If I get all the cork down, I can finally paint the track and be ready for the next phase of construction.

So how about you? What do you have planned this weekend? Painting, track work, scenery? Let us know. We'll come back on Monday the 18th and see how much we all got done. Until then, have a great weekend, stay safe and...

    High Greens!

Let's see, after a small shopping spree yesterday to obtain supplies I have plans set up. I wanted several decoders but the shop only had one so I have to wait for two more to come in Monday. That project can take place next weekend. Today I will instead start drawing my first scratch build project. A fire tower. I picked up some graph paper so today I sit in a hotel and draw. Sunday when I return home my son and I will continue to work on the mountain. With plaster cloth having been restocked as well as plaster we can continue on. I have a track light to install and I also have the supplies to start my planes diorama. If I find time in all that I will start wiring my staging yard.

Hope to finish my SP sand tower. Just have a bit more on the roof. And, some painting. Perhaps get some turnout machines mounted and wired.

I heard back from soundtraxx, did their suggestions on the econ 100, it still blinks 9 times as soon as the power is applied. So I will be packing it up to send it in. So add another $5 to the price of the "economic" decoder. Oh and it started to snow, so I may go out and run the big trains in the snow. Then warm up by cleaning up the HO room
