Welcome back to the gateway to the weekend everyone. I hope you had a good week and were able to get through the storms. Also, please keep in mind of those in Southern California dealing with the devastation from the wildfires. What a truly horrific event. Let's get started on our plans for the weekend.

Saturday: Not sure what I will be working on. Originally, I was going to go into the office and work then head to my no so local hobby shop and pick up two additional turnouts and track. Another storm is just starting so last night I took my laptop home and decided to work from home rather than risk the car to amateur hour on the highway. Of course, this means no trip to the hobby shop unless Saturday is better. So, Saturday is wide open.

Sunday: I'll probably be working on the N scale layout at some capacity. With track work done, I would like to operate it a bit. My main locomotive, B&M #1715, an Atlas GP9 needs updating for the layout. I plan to swap out the old frame with an Atlas silver DCC ready and install a Tsunami2 decoder, then set it up with my Proto Throttle. Before I buy anything, I'll need to sit down and go through my inventory so I can order what I need during the week and set up models the following weekend.

So how about you? What do you have planned for the weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Monday the 13th to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, be safe, stay healthy and as always...

    Happy Friday all!

Working from home today as it is actually snowing here in the Atlanta area. That means we will most likely not be venturing out anywhere tonight or over the weekend so once work is done this afternoon, I plan to work on installing a BLMA modern billboard.

Saturday should see me make a little more progress on the creek scene. I’s start with another coat of paint and move to the initial base layer of scenery. Will see what other little projects I can work on during the drying times.

Sunday will be more of the same.

Hope all our friends in southern California are safe and make it through the fires okay and that all you all have a great weekend.

I have not been able to get the outside Christmas decorations in due to the snow and now the cold temperatures and wind which has turned the snow into ice. It is supposed to be above freezing this weekend so maybe I might get them in otherwise we will just concentrate on the inside ones. I have a few errands to run such as the produce store, grocery store, and pharmacy.

Greenberg Show is this weekend in Oaks, PA. I am not sure if time will allow me to go. I have some more Accurail kits including three Trainfest kits to build. I have built the other five during this week. I have some cars that I renumbered that need to be sealed. I am also planning to run some trains. I have been organizing my passenger equipment this past week. I thought I was done and then realized I have an IHC RF&P set I need to add to the inventory list. The cars have no boxes and as a result are somewhere on the disorganized portion of the layout, so that is why they got missed.

Good morning and happy "snowy" weekend here in NC. Supposed to get about 6 or 7" here overnight.

This weekend will probably stick to working on framing for the second deck as well as a few tasks in the workshop. I've made a list for the "big items" to get done on the layout in 2025 and the 2nd deck is first on the list.

Everyone stay warm and have a great weekend!

I'm working on finalizing a track play right now for my new layout so I can create a budget for all the parts and pieces I need to buy to get started. Hoping to get that wrapped up this weekend.

    Happy Friday to Y'all

Not sure how much MRRing I'll get to this weekend. Been fighting a darn cold for most of this week. Just can't seem to shake it.

Y'all stay safe and have a great weekend,
    Wolf

Good morning from cloudy and cold Northeast Ohio, 1-3” of snow is expected this evening which will impact going to and from bowling.

I was working on the second RS2 for the Ann Arbor and will get the first color on it and bunch of Roundhouse offset side hoppers I built this week. Also will continue on the 40’ Tangent Combo door PS1 boxcar.

Will be going to the club on Saturday to run trains and have various conversations. Will keep the Outdoor Christmas lights on until the HOA gets upset about it then turn them off. When we lived in Anchorage the city asked that we keep them lit to dispel the darkness of winter.

If my crazy sleep pattern persists I'll find myself in the train room with a pot of Sleepy Time tea from 1:00am to 3:00am each morning.

There are things my wife wants done this weekend. Nothing major. Finding the burnt out light on a 48" wreath will probably be the most time consuming. While I'm at it I'll see what it will take for future LED conversion.

Looking to get in at least an hour walk each day. For what seems like the past week it has been cold and very windy. Due to this our little ACD Allie hasn't been getting the long walks required to burn of her excess energy. So far excess energy has only gotten her into trouble once. While my wife and I were eating dinner Allie thought the ball of yarn connected to a hat my wife was knitting was a toy. You can probably guess what happened.

Indirectly model related. I need to reassemble, and stock the drawing table I moved from the train room to the cellar. I also need to clean off the old egg sorting table in the cellar in preparation for demo. It is too big and heavy to get out the cellar door.

All the above is dependent on how my shoulder feels. Yesterday and this morning the pain is flaring up again but thankfully nothing like a couple weeks ago.

Modeling wise in the wee ours this morning I ventured to the attic and found the LED tape and power supply I had purchased a couple years ago. The air brush tank I ordered is scheduled to arrive today. Based on dimensions listed on the Internet I will need to make an adapter plate to mount my compressor.

The LED arch and air tank are the major projects scheduled for the weekend. I'll need to run to the hardware store to for miscellaneous items for the arch, probably the compressor too.

When I ripped the layout lengthwise a couple years ago I never cut custom length Unitrak pieces to fit the seam. Now my shoulder is making it difficult to work on this area.

Since Acme HCD is built on an HCD supported by stacking shelves, it was possible for me to rotate the layout 90° and temporarily support one end with a camera tripod. Now I'm ready to cut and fit track at one end. After installing track at this end I'll rotate layout 180° and cut and fit track at other end.

My work area reorganization is on going. I made some more progress early this morning.

    Have a nice weekend!

An updated B&M GP9 sounds like just what the doctor ordered. ;) That creek scene is going to be cool. Ahh, kit building and train running while warm inside. (y) Yep. Second deck is number one. :) Time for a budget and planning meeting. Have run afoul of a cold myself. :sick:Hoppers coming out! :p (HOA already commented about.) Reorganization sounds like a work whirlwind. Yep. Snow here. Freezing rain possible tonight. Good hope and thought for those dealing with major problems. This past week was a household chore week. Also, I needed to help a family member get home from school three days. Some model planning was done. Now that chores are mostly caught up, boxcar upgrades, parts backstock and other projects can resume. This is a good time to stay in and warm and work on the model railroad. Have a safe and warm weekend. :D

Doing any catch-up work I can on unfinished projects sitting in boxes, bins, and barrels... between more bouts of what one local weatherman called "nuisance snow", basically it snows, dumps about 2-3 inches in a few hours, then stops for a few hours. I go out and shovel the walkways clear, go back in, have lunch, after a good stiff coffee, take a nap while watching a DVD, wake up a an hour or so later and look outside... All the snow I took away is back! Grrrrr....

Rinse and repeat. Many times. Nuisance snow... :cautious:

    At least I have coffee...:coffee:

Tonight-had a work related social. Whole family came, overall good time.

Saturday/Sunday-track planing, chores and errands. Should get a little more snow tonight so add shoveling to the list.

Been a while since I was able to spend some time with you. Good to see so many familiar names still hanging around. Spent the last several months helping provide some extra care for my mother-in-law. Took the medical community that long to track down the issue. Good news is they did find and treat a problem. She is back with a gusto and taking care of herself again.

An Atlas ALP-45DP is running break-in laps on the re-installed test track behind me. I'm not much for contemporary modeling but won this during last year's NSE Convention raffle. Anybody out there a NJ Transit fan? Let's make a deal! Couple of GP-9's will get their turn next. Hearing the rails sing is pretty sweet after so long. For the weekend I am hoping to restart the UP Mikado project. Need to check my records, but I think I was working on the stack and steam dome proportions. That makes my weekend modeling plan reviewing the state of the project and making a plan for what to do next.

    Report will be ready Monday.
