Welcome back to the gateway to the weekend. I hope you all had a good week. I apologize for this being later than normal but after many months of successfully keeping the cold away, it finally struck its mighty blow on Wednesday, and I have been trying to shake it since. The good news is today is the last day of February and we start a brand-new weekend in a brand-new month. Let's get started. Saturday: I will no doubt sleep in as I fight this cold or whatever it is. I hope however to get some more track down on the HO layout and check off that milestone. Sunday: Same as Saturday depending on how I feel. I'm hoping to get all the feeders installed into the bus and maybe, just maybe, run a train. We'll see how I'm feeling. So how about you? What do you have planned for the weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Monday, March 3rd to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, stay safe and healthy and as always... High Greens!
@Jim Wiggin ... take care of that cold sir! No active model railroading this weekend as we will be at the beach in Nags Head, NC. My son will be here off and on checking on things, I might leave him a task or 2. [/chuckle] I may take some of the down time while at the beach and order a few modeling supply things that I have been ignoring. Everyone have an awesome and peaceful weekend!
Good morning everyone, Jim, get well soon. I'll be continuing with the Tomix Pachinko building. With the lighting now out of the way, I will be painting and applying stickers. Everyone have a great weekend whatever you are doing.
Happy Friday to Y'all Hope Y'all had a great week. @Jim Wiggin -- Get well soon!! I will continue on my Friend's Model T project. One is complete, one is at about 75% - the last one - yet to be started. Y'all have a great weekend, Wolf
It is the Wifes 77th birthday so our eldest is taking us the Mumbai Indian restaurant for a treat. Made good progress on the Markham Works building in the evenings this week. Still needs the name picking out in red A Virgin liveried Class 47 and the rake of PNA Cinder block wagons are being used to find any ballast highspots Norman Byrne, over on Model Rail forum, has suggested I model one of the Channel Tunnel Boring machines ( which were built by Markhams) and put it in the works yard, which I think is a splendid idea Started to think about the Platform 1 waiting room which will need to be scaled off photos Also thinking about the golf course which will form most of the background. The real Tapton course club house was a bit ordinary so I might be cheeky and put this one on. I'm sure many serious Golf fans will recognise this iconic and historical building Kev
I have been somewhat non committed on the modeling front this past week and it will probably continue into the weekend but I may get a covered hopper painted and ready for decalling next week. Then, there is bowling tonight and only two more weeks left in the season. On Saturday going to the club to run trains and maybe get some modeling done. Rick Jesionowski
No firm plan for modeling this weekend. Here is a list of things that may, or may not, happen: Reassemble the Mikado drive and test with the trucks installed on the tender Attend the Yarrow, BC, community swap meet on Saturday Install grab irons for the tender foot boards Imagineer the headlight for the Mikado Whatever happens, I promise you will learn about on Monday. Stay safe,
Our new motto: Victory Over Colds! Ahhh, ordering stuff at the beach. Japanese model railroading rules! More progress from the Model T assembly line. Markham Works looks imposing. Always time for a covered hopper. Mikado work sounds promising. Whew! Am on here late today due to helping a family member with finding and getting a car. Took a long time. What was completed was the Rock Island boxcar. Next up is three (I hope) GM&O boxcars. Everyone have a warmer a good weekend.
Getting here late today. We have a bunch of Amazon returns to make at Kohl's and a Happy Return at Staples of a pair of shoes my wife mail ordered. I am sure we will make a grocery store run at some point over the weekend. If the weather is agreeable I need to start dismantling the destroyed gazebo in the backyard. I found a piece of flashing that blew off in the windstorms last week. Or course it is at the highest point on the house. There is no way I can climb a ladder these days to reattach. I have someone who can do it. Hopefully he will this weekend. And there is always some laundry to do I have some Accurail kits I would like to assemble. I also want to work on the passenger station platforms. If there is time I will do some more scenery and ballasting. And of course run some trains.
Jim - take care of the cold, you are too important to your family ! You have all seen the image of the BUD 8 NASCAR Hauler that I am working on. Well I just added another unit to compliment the #8. I will not have them done this weekend but I have made the decals for both units and they are ready to paint. She's a beauty, I'll be redheaded with all the painting, better wear a cap : I shall post completed images if wanted. Be well and have FUN !
