We've all done it, we have made it to the end of another work week! Now will we get to work on our models and layouts?

My weekend started early this week as I accepted a local job on Monday and start this Sunday. While hobby related, not trains and thankfully, not planes either. Fortunately, this new job will allow me to focus on more items that will be coming up in early 2015, but I'm getting ahead of myself. This is the weekend we put the tree up (we prefer the natural kind) and with it goes the Christmas train. This will take most of my time Saturday but I do hope to install one or more of my Tam Valley servo controlled turnout machines as well as more flex track on module one. I finished my photo module this past week so now I can free up some other projects in the shop, so depending on sun light, I may have a small roster of locomotives to photograph too. Sunday I start my new job. While I will not typically work on Sunday's, the owners are for the Christmas rush and will have me get started before going into the work week. It's only for a few hours so I may try and sneak in an hour or two on the modules before heading west bound.

We're in the final throws of what I like to call, the Holiday Madness, which has me wondering how much we all will really get done this weekend and next. I would however like to wish our Trainboard train lovers a

    Happy Hanukkah!

    Merry Christmas

    And many High Greens!

Well, congratulations on your new job! I hope you find it interesting and rewarding in every way that it can be. In a few minutes, I will drive to work for the last time and bid farewell to my own job. Monday was my last day of work, and today I will show up at HR for the final signout.

Then, we will be off to Sunday River for a week of skiing. So, I'll have nothing to report on Monday, and no computer to do it on.

Busy non-modeling weekend ahead. Our furnace bit the dust on Wednesday, can't get new one installed until Monday. We're staying with my parents about 15 miles away to keep warm until then. Of course, ee also have holiday-related stuff going on.

I'm also attending a by-invitation hiring session with CSX on Monday as well, so I have top get stuff together for that as well.

    Busy...Busy...

Good luck with the new job. Sounds like something you'll enjoy from the way you're talking.

I plan (but, of course, everything is subject to change) to continue working on the yard area and possibly the salvage yard this weekend. Hopefully some progress will be made unless the wife comes up with some other plans.

Congratulations to you guys and gals heading for new jobs or retiring. Just remember you aren't alone out there. You take care and have a Happy Holiday.

Historical perspective: I was let go "Fired" twice in my life by true scrooge's just before the Christmas Holidays and once before my birthday. I know what it's like to have a family to support and a dumb @$$ boss who was looking for a way to buy himself a Christmas present, New Mercedes, if I remember right. Oh he eventually hired me back but we had one hell of a fun time at the Labor Board Hearing. True story.

Me? Home Alone. I kind of like it that way.

My work bench. I might as well get the first laugh. It's loaded with bad ordered cars, diesel motors and steam locomotives. Sad to say it will take more then a Friday, or a weekend to get everything back up and running. In case you are wondering. Mostly Atlas, diseasels (spelling intended) any any steam locomotive that had (past tense) those dreaded, idiotic, stupid, insulting, and dumb @$$ traction tires. What the hell are they thinking? There's no reason for them to be on any locomotive. But, before I go beating the war drums. They are waiting for an application of Bull Frog Snot. At least I won't have to worry about them breaking a TT and having it fall off. Weakest point on any locomotive is the traction tires.

    Ok, that's it from me.

Happy Holidays to my friends, acquaintances and anyone else tuned in.:eek:hboy:

My shipment of decoders came in the mail yesterday. This should bring the last of my loco roster into the 21st century. Fun project for a rainy day.
