Hold on everyone, we are almost there, the weekend is nigh! Time to tell us what you have planned for this weekend for trains.

Despite the holiday madness that has descended upon us, I'm still able to get some work done in the work shop. Work progresses on the GP30 and one of two BN caboose models is finally done.

This one I may keep and slightly weather as it was the caboose that was used in Galesburg. I might be able to justify it on a 1980's City Job run, complete with a green and white GP9 or GP35. The other is awaiting Micro Train couplers before it gets added to the store.

Saturday I'll continue working as I would like to get some paint down on a few projects as well as make decals for my buddy with the two rail O scale (Yes he wants more!). At some point tomorrow, Jess and I will be pressed into Christmas tree duty. I'm not sure how Jess will like a Christmas tree on her back, but it may make for a nice Christmas card!

Sunday, the only train related thing that will happen will be the setting up of the annual Christmas Train. This I hope will be the last year of the simple loop on the floor as I plan to do something more permanent once we move to NH. It would be nice to see 20 years worth of Christmas cars being pulled by a pair of B&M or Maine Central GP9's. The weather is scheduled to be nasty so Christmas tree set up and decoration will follow. At some point I hope to sneak away for some run time on the layout but we'll see.

So how about you? What do you have planned for this, the last weekend before Christmas? let us know. We'll assemble here on Monday the 19th to see how we did. Until then, have a great weekend, don't drink too much egg nog, stay safe and...

    High Greens!

Well, now that phase 1 is complete. I can move on to the real fun stuff. Detailing my layout. So, I think, I will start with adding dirt roads. Working on detailing the streets (Adding "lines" and weathering). And, perhaps plant some trees.

Ya'll have one hell of a great weekend!!

I don't have anything definite planned, but we are expecting overnight temps to drop to minus 22 and a high tomorrow below zero. I will be in a nice warm train room at least running some trains, but I'm sure some project will get done.

Not much will happen in the train room this weekend. We have a large gathering here for the family, annual Christmas party tomorrow. Sunday, I promised my son I'd go see the new Star Wars movie w/ him. I "may" have time Sunday to work on a section of track I pulled out because I wasn't happy with it. I'd like to at least get the plywood cut for it so I can get the roadbed and track back down.

    We'll see.
