Beware the black cat, the broken mirror and walking under a ladder, for today is Friday the 13th! Actually I'm not into superstitions and if my past history is any indication, some of my best days have been on Friday the 13th. So let's forget the superstitions and get started. Saturday: A short day selling fine Fords, then headed back to the house to finish up the Christmas tasks. Sunday: Should be the last round of Christmas decorating. I finished the Christmas Train Display and I'm happy with the way it turned out. I now need to do some much needed maintenance on the locomotive used for the train, MTH SW9, a B&M locomotive. So into the shop it goes for a full cleaning and greasing. My only other problem now is to not only hunt down the 2019 Christmas Car by MTH, but last years as well. With everything going on last year, there was no Christmas Train for the first time in 23 years. Hopefully I can find the ever elusive cars and finish up this Christmas list before the big day. So how about you? What do you have planned? Let us know. We'll assemble once again on Monday the 16th to see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, keep it safe and as always... High Greens!
Gotta help the little woman pull out Christmas decorations. Then -- I hope to start and complete decaling on my latest F3 project. Where I left off: Y'all have a great weekend!! Wolf
"It is bad luck to be superstitious." Today if all goes well I will finish the '1st Stage Bench Work' and order foam to be delivered. I'm amazed at how much it cost. My thoughts of using layers of it went 'poof' last night. I'll be doing elevations the olde fashion way. Work Saturday and Sunday so Monday: Get trains running. It is just Kato track in a temporary look but it is a start. Tuesday: Should recieve people and animals by now so most likely it will be to start 'scenery modules' mounted on well, I'm not sure. First one will be a 'farm'. Might try paper farm buildings.
I may scream a Charlie Brown aauuugh! Nothing doing today. A relative needed some help. I am thankful I could do so. Will try to get back on track shortly (sorry for the hackneyed pun). I have a number of components ready. I am planning to work "from the ground up". We will get 'er done!
I'm working on my 3rd NP Standard Depot in Z. It's a First Class Single Level combination depot. This time I am trying something new, a removable structure concept, held in place with 6x3mm super magnets. Lighting will be wired internally to copper tape, and magnets will align the structure to flathead screws templated to the layout so the copper tape aligns over copper tape on a layout for electrical pickup.
@rray May I ask where you got the magnets? I am thinking of having 'hot swap-able' scenes. These might be 'modular' or well, i'm not sure.
I got 200 of the 6x3mm for $11 from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MX57ZGK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1
