Coming to you from a small depot off to the side of the main line of creativity, good morning, afternoon or evening, welcome to the Weekend Modeling thread! Grab a cold beverage, a do-nut and a chair as we discuss our major model railroad plans for the weekend.

Saturday: Well the time has come. I have e-mailed my old club, the N Scale of Bloomington Normal, and informed them that I am holding a large Model Railroad yard sale for Saturday morning. After much personal debate, I'm slowly getting rid of the N scale and will eventually go to HO. I find that I'm an operator of mainly point to point switching and my eyes are just not what they used to be so N scale has lost its appeal. That said, I plan to get rid of many buildings, locomotives, freight cars and more tomorrow. After that, the wife and I plan to visit both my favorite diner and my "not so local hobby shop" one last time. We'll finish the evening with a quiet meal.

Sunday: Packing, lots of packing. Prep work and getting loose ends tied up for what is to come.

And with that, another chapter of my life will close. As many of you know, both Angela and I had expected to move back to NH last summer. Various things happened to keep us from making that move. I'm sure you have heard me say before, "Life comes at you fast!" This phrase is so true as I write this. Monday morning, after our accomplishments thread, I'll be getting in Jess my railfan Jeep and will be east bound and going home to New Hampshire permanently. I have to unfortunately leave Angela and Lucy behind as family issues must be taken care of. Over the course of months, I'll be relocating, finding work, moving Angela, Lucy and our stuff to our new home in New Hampshire. Not how I wanted to move back home, but it must be done. So after 20 years almost to the day, I'm coming home. the Monday thread will be my last here in Illinois and there will be a lot of changes. I ask that you guys stay patient as the weekly updates may be later than what you are used to. That said I will do my best to get the threads started every Monday and Friday.

So with that said, we all will meet here on Monday the 20th, to see how we all did. Have a great weekend, stay safe and as always...

My plan is to continue working on my Lark. I may also delve into a different project or two -- I have a couple of small projects in mind.

Hope Y'all have a great weekend!!

Jim, good luck with your move and finding employment. I'm sure you have an extensive network throughout northern New England, thus good leads.

I've installed the twelve trolley layout switch machines and the single-point turnouts appear to be operating correctly. Though I suspect their operation will be finicky and require continuous tweaking. I now am designing a control panel for the DPDT switches and bi-polar LEDs to complete the machine wiring.
