You've almost made it through another week, we're almost there...the weekend. Time to see what is on the ready board!

I've got a busy weekend planned as I will be a bachelor. Angela is away with friends out of state, Jared is playing soccer out of state and I'm here, but not alone.... My good friend from the great white north is coming down tonight to start the weekend of module work in preparation of the Columbus Ohio N Scale Weekend.

This past week, I switched gears from painting and decals to working on the Galesburg modules in preparation for the static grass and ballast application this weekend. Here you can see that the last of the cork sub terrain is down.

Next, I roughed out the concrete parking area, street and industrial areas that make up Galesburg Casting with styrene and a vintage aerial photo of the area.

Here you can see the completed section with styrene. After this weekend, the areas between the rails will be filled in and painted. That brown stuff is ground goop, a concoction of Cell-U-Clay, water, white glue and burnt umber water based paint. It works well in getting rid of the flat look. I realize this is Illinois but we're NOT that flat.

And the view from a picture I shot just a few minutes ago. With the area covered, I'm ready for the weekend. Our plan is to get as much static grass and ballast down on Saturday before going up north to visit PPUIN's gorgeous N scale layout of 1970's Peoria area for a night of operations. If the weather isn't a complete wash out as the weather man has forecasted and we get a lot done, we may leave early to railfan a bit of the BNSF Transcon on the way to Dave's.

Sunday, we'll try to get more ballast work done as well as other odds and ends before my buddy heads back home up north and everyone heads back home.

All in all, a very busy weekend.

So, how about you? What do you have planned, this last weekend of April? Any railfanning this weekend? Getting ready for shows? Let us know! We'll all assemble again on Monday, May 2nd. Phew, where is the year going?! Until then, have a great weekend, stay safe and...

    High Greens!

Well, last weekend was a hoot. The Cowboy festival was a huge success. So, back to model railroading. I had ordered a portable A/C unit... it is out for delivery today. This is gonna be great. If it works as I envision it... I will gain 4-5 months of working on my layout. This weekend, I hope to put down the first "earth" on my layout.

    Enjoy,
    Wolf

I have feeders to drop, and I've been printing out templates and checking my supplies for a couple of scratchbuilt buildings.

After several weekends of having plans, I'm finally free! I think I'll go through some of my boxes of trains stuff and take some photos and do so repacking. I'll probably do some modeling as well.
