We are running into the last weekend of April, where did the time go? Has the weather turned nice where you are at? Time for weekend Modeling Plans.

I'm about knee deep into two Fox Valley N scale ES44's that I have stripped and hope to paint one of them today sometime. I stripped both BNSF units and I'm giving them a CB&Q treatment. One is for me and one will go to a lucky winner who attends Galesburg RR Days. I got most of the grab irons on unit one last night and I hope to get the gray and black applied before tomorrow. The other unit needs to be stripped and have the #80 holes drilled into it for the details that FVM gives you. The Bridge module needs some attention as well as the N Scale weekend in Columbus is just a mere weeks away. Saturday I plan to work on it, finish cleaning and organizing the new storage unit and spend some time with my step son building a pair of Tamiya Lunchboxes. He really loves RC trucks and this has been a great bonding tool, so I always find time for scale and RC fun trucks. Sunday is my relax day with two Soccer games scheduled, lets just hope the rains stay away.

So how about you? What is on the work bench this weekend? Work on locomotives, rolling stock or structures? Maybe some of you are in the planning stages of a new layout? Tell us about it! Let us know what you want to get accomplished this last weekend of April. We'll come back on Monday the 28th and see how we all did. Until then, have a pleasent and safe weekend and...

    High Greens!

Yes, I bought a non-road-appropriate locomotive that I have no intention of painting. In my defense, I have a backstory that will work after I retire and move to a house with a larger train room, so I can build myself an electrified main line.

Until then, though, I still have this layout to work on and enjoy. The weekend looks to be fairly miserable, with cold rain and temperatures in the 40s and 50s. Perfect for train work. Last night, I glued down the last section of track, other than one siding that's still waiting for some scenery. I've got about 20 feet of track to ballast, and I hope to make a big dent in that number. Not too exciting, I know, but other than that siding, it will be the last ballasting work on Phase 2 of my layout. So, there will be a certain thrill when it's done.

Going to the NMRA MCR Keystone Division Jamboree in Pittsburgh tomorrow, going to get rid of some HO equipment at the white elephant table.

Tony Koester will be presenting a clinic on his NKP, that will sure to be a full room.

Hoping to find some N Scale, not likely in a 90% HO division.

Hoping to finally lay track on my second staging yard, build staircases for my coal loader, and maybe start on superdetailing a boxcar. Maybe.

Ottawa Train Expo is this weekend - they've moved to a bigger stomping ground with lots more parking - the former venue at a university fieldhouse had very limited parking and I was hard pressed to find a spot even if I arrived an hour before opening. That show is very popular and parking was shared with students... Now it's all ours!

The Train Pervert will be lurking about!

    Oh, Gigi L'Amoroso!

    Best looking electric ever.

I have a trestle to stain and install, a locomotive kitbash to finish decaling and detailing; 3 more loco shells to strip; three loco shells stripped ready to paint . . . and a kitchen to packup since the remodeling crew starts next week.

And next weekend is the Conrail Historical Society's Rail-B-Q in Newport, PA so I have to find all my Conrail wear . . .
