Twas the weekend before Christmas and all through the forum, every iPad, PC and laptop was stirring with the aid of a mouse. I with my question and you with your answers will soon settle in for a long winters railroad weekend.

That is the plan anyway. With the last weekend before Christmas I have a bit planned for the B&M layout. The benchwork is 90% done with the second modules legs finished last night. I plan to finish the special corner module tomorrow and then start working on the risers and sub-roadbed. If things go right, I may have just enough room to install a two track, hidden staging behind Potter Place on the back side of that module. Of course I still have Christmas shopping to do, mainly for the lady but being a man, I hope to accomplish this in a somewhat expedient nature. With the rest of the Christmas stuff I might get drafted in, I'm just planning on getting the corner done and installing those risers and sub-roadbed.

So how about you? What do you have on your list of projects this weekend? Will you have time? Let us know! We'll come back on Monday the 23rd and see how we all did. Until then, have a happy and safe weekend and...

    High Greens!

There will be little, if any, train stuff accomplished this weekend. We will be "training" for our ski trip out west in January, so we will spend the next two days at Sunday River. Daughter Annie will join us, so it will be just like old times.

Being off work this past week, I did get some stuff accomplished. The tannery itself needs just a few details. I found those parts for the water tower and got it assembled, but painting will likely wait unless I do that this morning before we head north. The whole scene is still surrounded by pink foam, though. I hope to cover that with some of that "Fusion Fiber" material. I haven't used this stuff big-time yet, so it will be an interesting experiment. In theory, you can spread it on and then immediately apply static grass while it's wet, using the mixed wetness to hold the grass in place.

With the holiday upon us, nothing will be completed for a while. Also supplies are getting thin, time to make more purchases.
