Another work week is almost done, our heads are filled with ideas and projects, it's time for Weekend Modeling Plans.

I'm in the middle of Soccer season, with two games on Saturday and one Sunday morning. I hope to at some point, sit down and finally design the sign for Rick's Place. I plan to design a guitar sign in PhotoShop and print it out on decal paper onto a thin piece of styrene and use wire to make the brackets to secure it to the building. I also need to add some people to the structure. If I have time, I want to see about adding lighting to the building since it is detailed. Also if time allows, I stumbled upon an old, no longer used grain elevator that looks exactly like the Walthers kit I have. The line is the former Illinois Central from Champaign to Decatur and is outside of Cisco IL. I would like to get some pictures and some ideas for using the structure on one of my T-Trak modules. Hopefully between Soccer and getting airplanes ready for my last RC show of the year, I can get some N scale modeling done.

So how about you? Do you have some module or layout work this weekend? How about a road trip to a location you wish to model? Plans of a busy weekend with modeling knife, airbrush and tweezers? Whatever your plans may be, let us know! We would love to see what you have planned, with pictures if you have them. We'll get back together on Monday the 15th and see how we did. Until then, have a happy and safe modeling weekend and...

It's Family and Friends Weekend at the University of New England, where our daughter is a senior majoring in Neuroscience. So, we're leaving right after work today and heading north, or "downeast" as they say in Maine. It's going to be chilly, too cold for bike riding in my opinion, so I may take in the Seashore Trolley Museum in Kennebunk, or perhaps the Narrow Gauge Museum in Portland.

I probably won't get any modeling done, but I note with satisfaction that my Milwaukee F7 decals, which had been listed to arrive at Walthers yesterday, showed up as "in stock" when I checked. So, next week when the order arrives at my LHS, I should have them.

For those who may be interested, Walthers has sets of Life-Like figures on sale, $10 for 72 figures. They are unpainted, and not high-quality characters like you'll find by Preiser, but if you're looking for figures to put inside a building or passenger car, this is a very reasonable way to go.

Hopefully I will be able to get my new T-Trak module to the point where I can pour the water for the stream that flows under the bridge. I also have to remove the temporary kitchen counter and sink I installed when I ripped out my kitchen cabinets so I can sheetrock behind it then tape and compound the wall. I may have some time to prep my HO modules for a show in Kingston NY on Sunday, October 22nd.

I need to begin installing switch points, throw rods and switch stands at 4 locations

Also need to touch up and paint parts of this Yard Office I assembled this week.

I need parts for one of the switches which is missing a frog and guardrails, so that is holding up the last of the rail installation on this level. Paid off a couple big bills last month and bought a new Nikon DSLR D3100, so this month will be tight... no splurging on the layout.
Kind of getting down on myself with the tiny room and lack of operating, so I don't know if I'll really get back in there much this weekend.

I got some lighted bill boards for movies etc. and will figure out which years I want to dispaly . 1930's -1940's . I also need to add bridges at both ends of the my pike for the main line , one plate girder and one open girder , one gets a dry wash and the other has a seasonal creek/pond where locales go swimming.
