There is a chill in the air, leaves are changing and the days are slowly getting shorter. Its October and its time for Weekend Modeling Plans.

It is scheduled to be a busy weekend, how much of that will be model railroad activity, depends on my domestic duties. Saturday, I plan to solder up more feeders on the club yard modules. After that, I may work on the T-Trak modules, although some airplane projects may get in the way. Sunday, Angela and I are walking in Champaign in support of those who have Diabetes. The benefit walk is early Sunday morning and is designed to make people more aware of this disease as well as raise money for research and subsequent cure. After that, Angela and I just might take it easy as the next few weekends will have us traveling out of state for Soccer.

So how about you? Do you plan to help out your club with some layout or module work? Do any of you have any open houses with your clubs? Will yard work shrink from 1:1 to 1:220, 1:160, 1:87 or 1:48? How about track work or detailing and scratch building. Maybe this is the weekend you start the first step to build that grand pike. October is the perfect time to get work done on our railroads. So boil up some apple cider with a cinnamon stick, gather up some apple cider donuts and get busy! We'll all come back on Monday, October 8th and see how we all did. Until then, have a fun and safe weekend and...

This weekend is the first local train show of the season. It's out in Pepperell, maybe 25 miles away, but it's an easy drive through the New England countryside. It's a small show, and there's an open house by the sponsoring club, Pepperell Siding. It will be nice to see how they've progressed over the last year.

Thanks to Modeling Photos of the Week, I won't be finishing up the F7s. My in-process before-and-after photo was honored, but the camera's sharp eye made me look again at my own photo, and I decided I really couldn't live with the deteriorated "nose art" on the front of those A-units. Microscale has the decal set, so it's on order, but it will be a while before it arrives. Perhaps I'll take the opportunity to double up the LEDs and add over-under headlights to the engines while they're apart.

During the week I built a couple of T-Trak module bases. This weekend I will start laying track and begin scenicking the module I built for myself. It is going to have a river scene with a waterfall and a bridge running across it. Also have to hang the last piece of sheetrock in my Kitchen renovation project.

I was already in the train room today--I masked off the wooden ties on the Gross Dam Rd grade crossing, and laid a full-strength coat of white glue down, then sprinkled on sifted dirt from on location. I misted full-strength 70% alcohol over, and added a light mist of 50/50 diluted gue mix. Now it's drying.

Working hard to get all the stuff in the garden to the point where I don't mind if it's starts to snow.

Got my Crosscountry season pass already. :teeth:
