As I struggle to see the keyboard and the shops BNSF Calendar, I am reminded that the days are getting shorter and that the fall train season is upon us. Its time for weekend modeling plans.

I'll be starting my weekend helping my club, the NTBN, get some yard work done. Two of our club members designed a very lightweight yard that can fit in a standard four door sedan. We are hoping to have it done for Milwaukee. I always bring my camera when weather is nice and the top and doors are off the railfan Jeep as I cross a few active railroads on the way. I also need to pick up my shop as it has been doing double duty since the long heat wave. It was too hot to work on airplanes in my storage, so I worked on them in the air conditioned shop instead. With temps in a more normal area, planes can return to their natural habitat. I also need to run the track cleaning train on my layout and get ready for the big re-alignment. All in all, a pretty busy weekend is planned.

So how about you? Do the subtle signs of autumn provoke you to get a little more done on your mini pike? Does track work, yard work or module work beckon you? Perhaps freight cars that need to be assembled, or locomotives that need detailed are on your list? From scenery to soldering, whatever your plans may be, let us know. Tell us what you plan to accomplish this weekend. We'll all come back on Monday, August 27th and compare our accomplishments. Until then, have fun and...

Not this weekend, I'm afraid. We're moving our daughter back up to college for her senior year. As always, we'll miss her company, but at the same time I will get back the family room / train room as more of a man cave.

My Silflor static grass might be at the LHS now, so I'll try to pick that up tomorrow before we leave for Maine.

I am probably going to balance my efforts between completing the roof on the rolling mill and ballasting the Main / A-D / Yard Track 1 tie strips and switch I installed last weekend.

Plenty of things on the honey-do list to do, too.

Working to complete two 'outside braced' wood cabooses.A WP and a Illinois Central transfer caboose. Mail doors and braces are done on the IC...completing the bays on the WP. Want to complete them at close to the same time.. Using a Model Power and a Lima for the bodies. The ICis really different because of the extended platform so it was necessary to push the both ends closer to each other

Continue to wire up my turnouts. And run busing for the main line.

    Enjoy,
