We are rounding that last curve into our destination called the weekend. Time for plans, weekend Modeling plans.

Summer has been keeping me busy at work, obviously, model airplane shows reach a peak this time of year. As a result, most of my modeling has been spent on aircraft not trains. This weekend is no exception, however I do have a T-Trak fun run / birthday party on Saturday. Two of our club members turn 60, so we as a club will be having a dual 60's birthday fun run. My biggest decision will be trying to figure out what to run, B&M or CB&Q. the town of Monticello has converted a section of the old Illinois Terminal ROW into a bike path and from a recent ride, I found some great vantage points in which to get pictures from the close side by side tracks of the museum. That might be Sunday mornings mission.

So how about you? New scratch building work? Maybe some track work to keep you busy? Fall show season is coming, how about some module work? What ever your plans are, be sure to tell us and list them here. We would love to hear from you. We'll all get together on Monday the 12th and see how we all did. Until then, get busy, have a great weekend and...

    High Greens!

Another hot weekend awaits, I'm afraid, so I've been planning some decal work indoors. I've got a half-dozen boxcar kits opened up. Three are rib-side cars from a company of the same name. They come painted and lettered, but without road numbers, and a decal sheet is included. The others have numbers, but one is a duplicate, so I'll be trying to remove the number, or maybe paint it over, and then replace it with extra digits from those decal sheets.

It's tax-free weekend in Massachusetts, so the usual six-and-a-quarter percent sales tax will not be collected. I'll be at the LHS on Saturday, not because I need anything, but because I want to make a small symbolic statement by buying on this weekend. I've ordered some longer static grass, which probably won't be in yet, but I'll pre-pay for it anyway!. If perchance the grass has come in, I'll be putting some down on my layout.

Next, it may be the Branchline Trains depot kit, but I should probably take a look at the RIP track and do some maintenance on those cars and engines that have been pulled from service.
