Another work week for many of us is done. Time to stop thinking of model trains and start working on them.

this weekend will be a drastic change for me. Jared has games out of town and I have a model airplane commitment on Saturday, so for the first time since moving in, I will have the place to myself the entire weekend. Saturday, I have a contest and swap meet with my local airplane club. With any luck I will have the 1940s designed stick and tissue rubber powered model done that was this years one design contest. Many built and converted their's for RC but I stayed true to the original and covered mine with tissue and will power it with rubber. After the show and contest, depending on the amount of "hangar talk" , I'll head back home and get ready for the N scale meet in Columbus Ohio. T-Trak will be Sunday's goal as I have streets and side walk to instal on my Maywood Station module. I'll also have a bit of electronics to add as we'll. all in all a quiet but busy weekend.

So how about you? What plans do you have this weekend for your railroad? Track work, painting or scenery? Whatever your plans may be, let us know, with pictures if you have them. We'll all come back on Monday the 13th and see how we all did. Until then, have a happy and safe modeling weekend and...

It's time for me to put the carfloat itself on its base, and maybe set up the apron with the superstructure, based on the final position of the float. The carfloat will be on its own removeabe section of pink foam. Right now, it's about a quarter-inch too low, so I'll be gluing a piece of either Masonite or plywood under the foam, depending on which material gives me the best elevation match. The chunk of foam is a bit short, too, so I'll use the same base to extend the "dirty water" beneath the model. Then, I'll wrap the whole assembly with Masonite "fascia." This will be a bit higher than the foam, so it will form the basin for pouring Envirotex.

If all goes according to plan and it rains most of the weekend, which is the forecast, I will have the "water" basin sealed and painted by Sunday night.

I just installed two signals on one of my T-Trak modules and a signal control module on another. Now I have five T-Trak modules with working signals. They are going to be displayed in a layout tomorrow for national train day in the Renselaer NY Amtrak station.

I have to laugh at the results from the software that picks up keywords in our posts, highlights them and links them to external sites. T-Trak sends you to a track lighting place. If it weren't so funny, I'd be embarrased that my pink foam reference goes to a hair curler ad.

I have two bad ordered Ortners (MTL) a bad ordered WC 50 ft Box (FVM I think) and a bad ordered SP Bulkhead flat all awaiting my rehabilitation. I am also looking to do a pipe load on the bulkhead with a bunch of brownish black coffee stir straws I've acquired from work. Just need to work out the strapping and blocking.

If I do anything it'll most likely be helping my kids get their T-Trak modules further along.
