In a week that will be known for me anyway as "The week internet did not work", we are finally here at the mid-start of Weekend Modeling Plans!

While the office part of my move from front porch to spare bedroom is complete, the model railroad aspect of it is not. I may start Saturday by working on getting the spare bedroom completely cleaned out and start the process of moving in the work bench and layout. With the layout in its new room, I will finally have access to three of the four sides. That will allow me to work on the Concord side of the layout. I have also been storing the plastic tubs used to hold scenery, track and rr essentials, under the layout. Hopefully these can be stored in a nearby closet again. While the basketball schedule is about done, Jared now has indoor soccer for the next 6-7 weeks with games on Saturday afternoon and practice on Sunday afternoons, starting this weekend. This will cut into my Weekend Modeling Plans a bit but I still may find some time to work on the layout besides just moving it.

So how about you? What plans are in store for you this weekend? Any open houses or club functions? Any more track work or maybe some scenery? How about a train show or two? Whatever your plans are, be sure to let us know! We'll come back (Barring any more computer troubles on my end) next Monday the 21st and see how we all did. Until next time, have a safe weekend and...

    High Greens!

    Welcome back!

I'll be home this weekend, although I'm not among those whe get Monday off. Last night, I started actually putting the car float kit together. We're supposed to get some mild weather for Saturday and Sunday, so I hope to get it together in time to use the Great Outdoor Paint Booth before colder weather returns. The kit itself is a simple one. I quickly discovered that there's a lot of "clamp the subassembly together until the glue sets" work on this one, so I'll be time-sharing myself betwee that and pouring the first layer of Envirotex in the old mill canal.

Football Sunday. Today I'll stop by my LHS and pick up the 3 flatcars I ordered. These will be the "idler flats" used to pull strings of cars off the carfloat. Prototype practice is to keep the locomotives off the apron and the float itself. I can probably put together the flatcar kits while watching the games.

The switches I ordered probably will not arrive here until next week. They have been shipped. I need them for my modules. I will lay the two main tracks on the T-Trak modules so I have something to work on over the weekend. Going up to Springfield next Sunday. Going to be looking for N scale building kits.
