Welcome back everyone to the gateway to the weekend or should I say to the NEW YEAR! Hard to believe that we will be in 2023 soon, what a year. In that year, we have finally started to see the decade go back to a normal schedule and 2023 will hopefully see more normalcy in our world. Let's see what everyone has planned for the last weekend of 2022 and first weekend of 2023.

Saturday: The parts for my Falcon finally came in after our post office distribution center had to close for weather. I'll be heading up north to my father-in-law's garage to rebuild the carburetor, fit on new radiator hoses and change the oil. My father-in-law has taken the last few weeks to work on the car as parts came in so hopefully, I get to play a little bit this weekend. Once we finish the Falcon, we'll take him out to dinner, his Christmas present.

Sunday: It is now going to be in the 50's. Wow, what a change from last week. I plan to take down the Christmas decorations and store them for another year. I hope to have time to work on the layout again. I need to finish the corner by adding the 2-inch foam and the 1/4-inch Baltic Birch fascia then I think I am ready for track.

Monday: Weather reports are showing a day in the 60's! That means if I have all the Christmas stuff neatly put away, I can work in the garage. It may be warm enough for me to paint the upper valance of the layout and I really need to finish the skyboard back drop. I'll have to see what other activities the wife has in mind as well.

So how about you? What do you have planned for the last and first weekend of 2022/2023? Let us know. While we are at it, think about a Model Railroad New Year's Resolution we can share along with our progress report on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023. Until then, have a great weekend, celebrate safely, stay healthy and...

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Good morning to Y'all -- and -- Happy New Year to Y'all.

Well, it's supposed to be a rainy day tomorrow. So, I hope to finish up the decals and start on adding the details to the FA project.

For Sunday and Monday -- probably assist my Wife in taking down and putting away the Christmas decorations.

Y'all stay safe and have a great weekend,
    Wolf

Happy New Year all!!! Health, wealth, and peace of mind to each of you for the coming year. This week I already took down the tree and inside decorations and have them all boxed up. Just need to drag them into the storage room off my work shop and "neatly" (ahem) put them away. Will also stop this afternoon and watch the Duke Mayo bowl w/ NC State playing Maryland.

This weekend I plan on finishing the wiring tasks I wanted to do this week. Also may get around to decaling one of my engines that keeps getting shoved to the back burner. New Years eve will be quiet here. The Mrs. and I usually have a quiet dinner w/ champagne and boiled lobsters. Then pork, peas, and greens on NY day. After the hectic Christmas weekend, I am looking forward to a peaceful and very quiet New Years weekend.

    Enjoy the holiday!

Happy New Year! We are not planning much. It will be my wife, daughter, son, and myself. We will do our usual sit around and wait for the ball to drop, make some noise, and have a toast. Most likely we will be in bed by 12:30. I have some things I threw in the garage during the cold spell that I need to officially put away. I need to get a new “mop” so we can clean the downstair floors better. I had to toss the old one after it broke. Will ring in the new year with some laundry.

I plan to run some trains. I am going to use my new Athearn Genesis Western Maryland (circus scheme) F3A locomotives pulling a coal drag. I then will be tuning up some coal hoppers and then organizing them. If time permits, I will add screws to coupler clips and change out the McHenry couplers on some Athearn and Roundhouse RTR cars. Another task will be searching through my stash of decals and dry transfers. I just acquired an unlettered Proto 1000 RDC that I plan to convert into a fantasy NYO&W scheme. I am also waiting for an unlettered BLI E6 4-4-2 that I will letter for Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines.

Good morning from cloudy and "mild" Northeastern Ohio!!!

Friday, hope to paint a pair of box cars I got done assembling this week, then off to bowling tonight after missing last week due to the weather.

Saturday, will be a club day as the weather is still supposed to be nice although rainy, then in the evening maybe a little decaling or we will watch a movie before the ball drops.

Sunday, will try to get all the decaling done so I can dull coat and assemble the cars during the week, also looking for a set of etchings that I lost in order to complete a box car kit, it has all the end detail parts I need to complete the car.

Happy last Friday of 2022! Where did the year go.
On Saturday evening, we have guest coming over to celebrate the new year. So, Saturday morning, I will probably spend some time cleaning in the train room and make sure all is in order in case anyone wants to go down and see some trains run. It's also supposed to rain here Friday night and through the first half of Saturday.
Sunday is predicted to be in the mid to upper 60's here. Only about 40 degrees higher than this past Sunday. I have a work task from 12 to 1 but after that, if the weather is as good as they say, I have a couple of items that need a quick coat of paint and then I hope to get back to the workbench and finish the DCC install on the two units I started a couple of weeks ago.
Monday is a scheduled day off for the holiday but will be on call so not sure what will be going on. If I'm able to paint on Sunday, maybe some assembly work.

I hope you all have a Happy and Safe New Year!!!!!!!

    Good morning all,

Our New Years tradition is to watch a Japanese New Years program on TV, of course it's a tape delay due to the time zone difference.

In the train room I have successfully finished my experiments with the point to point system and am waiting on an ordered box to mount this in for portable operations on modular layouts. Am now working on the serial staging project at the east end of the home layout. One thing I am going to do this weekend is to make up a nice list of all the little hobby projects I want to accomplish in 2023 and hang it up in the train room. It will be interesting to see how many items are marked off by the end of the year.

Wishing you all a safe and HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Sixties! ;) Rainy! ;) I am the Mayor of "Back Burner". (y) Good plans (Laundry is rearing its head again...). I really, really hate it when I lose parts... More sixties! ;) I can relate. Many 2022 Omega Scale Railway goals had to be relisted for 2023. At this point, the Jersey cow is about ninety percent complete. I need to install ears and put on color. :p Hopefully done by Tuesday. I would like to wish all of you a safe, healthy and prosperous New Year. :D

Hope to continue working on my 2'x4' layout main base for the Winter Party. We usually have Pork Chops, Black Eye Peas, and the such as @Kitbash said, but family member that cook's it coming home today from a brief hospital stay today, just a few days. So might be another time. I sure hope that crazy weather stays away from everyone. In the high 50's or even 60's the last few days here, but now raining.

No particular plan, just work on what I feel like doing, and when I want too :)

    Howdy folks,

I closed my company for a week's vacation. We work 24/7. Let's have a rest. I am planning our next Canada vacation with my wife. It's back to British Columbia. Until then, I'll build a model on British Columbia. So it's still being built at the staging yard and I'm already looking forward to showing you the next pictures.

Y'all stay safe and I wishing you all a Happy New Year:)

Im hoping to keep working on building the Digital SLRG -- I put in one of the intermodal yards the other day, so I might be able to copy and paste it to the other locations. I have a lot of learning about how to make JMRI do what I want it to for the operations side of things, and I need to make numbered liveries for megatons of cars -- fortunately that goes fairly fast -- also rolling line just released the ability to have moving cars (automobiles) on the layout doing automated things -- so I need to learn more about that and get it set up for good looks -- I also saw a good looking set of propane tanks in the Rolling line discord, so I want to try to replicate them, as that will make a cool industry

New years eve will be football here in the holmes house --- we have a tradition of doing hot subs for dinner on that day, which is awesome, New years day will be church and more football - -monday, rose parade and football -- good news my computer is right next to the TV so I can watch and model at the same time!

    Have a great weekend
    Happy New Year
    TIM

Hoping for a nice, quiet day. Been thinking about a couple of future critter bash HOn30 projects. Got one just sitting there already, begging for me to finish it. But then there is the engine house still awaiting progress. And.... Just need to get motivated, somehow.
