Well I know I said Monday I would come back here on Wednesday, the 26th to get this thread started but life got in the way. Without further ado......

Today, like many American's, I will eat a feast that I was told last night is bad for me. I'll be with my girlfriend, Angela's family this year like I have done the past three years, thankful to have a family accept me. The usual trappings of the holiday will take place before we all head home and settle in for a good late fall sleep. Friday, rather than spend money I don't have on things I don't need, I'll be heading south to do some work with the family. Saturday, it is supposed to be warm(er) so I need to get some hardware and finish the last bits of lumbar work to my modules. This includes the leg bracing and one last sheet of masonite for the third module. Saturday, I also have a nice distraction by way of one of Jared's soccer games and latter us "old people", another couple that has a son that plays soccer with Jared, are going to make homemade pizza and play card games. Sunday, I hope to work on the modules a bit more as well as a small display I have been working on to use as a photo back drop of my N scale work. A busy long weekend!

Before we go, lets remember a few things. I know right now the world seems like a bad place filled with war, riots, death and destruction but don't let the mass media think it is all doom and gloom. Be thankful, remember our service men and women who serve so that we can have such a feast today. Remember our Vets too, they performed a large part for our freedom, help em out if you can. Be thankful that most of us, American, Canadian, UK, France, AUS, many countries live in freedom thanks to those who stood up and answered the call. Think of all that we have and be thankful. Blessed be you and your family on this day.

We'll come back on Monday, oh my, December 1st! Wow this year has flown by! We'll see if we have survived our second holiday of the last quarter and if we got anything done. Until then....

    High Greens!

    And....

    HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

As usual, I will be heading over to the home of an old college friend (I'm actually older than he is) to meet up with a bunch of other old college friends. This is the first time I'll be going all by myself, as my wife is in Florida with her parents, my sister is in Rhode Island at a friend's place and our daughter decided to stay in Maine due the weather. (OK, between "decided" and "to" in that sentence, she called and she might be here after all!)

Anyway, I just looked outside at the two inches of snow, and outside my door was a package, which I presume is from CVP with my wireless throttles! I was so excited that I opened the door, and only then realized I didn't have any shoes on. So, that's my next step.

I'd like to get that section of benchwork done, but I will have some shovel work to do, as my car is terrible at getting up the driveway.

This weekend, a local club, Montreal, Vermont &Essex, is holding an open house, so I'll be taking a gander at their goings-on. I've even convinced a non-modeling coworker to go take a look.

Well, I've done a little magazine reading, so far. Won't be going anywhere, or doing much outside. Snowed yesterday. Supposedly will snow more later, and on through the entire weekend. Temps Saturday predicted to fall below zero again. Good times for watching too much football on TV, and for indoor hobbies!

I'll be building a new desk/shelving system for the train room, til now everything has been stacked on the floor and I've been doing my model work at the kitchen table. Tired of moving stuff around. Plenty of scrap lumber here at the old homestead my parents are otherwise gonna burn eventually.

No plans, we will see what happens in the train room as the days go by.

My dad and I got the hollow core door and foam board for my new N scale layout and glued the foam to the HCD. Now just waiting for that to dry. Meanwhile, I'm working on finalizing my track plan and reading.

    Joshua Trees

Built some Joshua trees for a friend while watching football today. Funny just as I sent him a note about them here he comes to my place. 2014-11-30_15-44-52 M=B R=8 S=4.jpg IMG_20141130_153716_921.jpg

The truck is about 2" behind the trees and the boxcar is about 6" so I think the size is good. He could always plant them deeper to lower them a bit. If you see a little white here and there the glue may still be wet and reflecting more than desired.

Got some of the lumber cut for the desk. Met some of the holiday layout crew at the train depot today when fiancée and I went over to help decorate. Going to the weekly meeting Weds. night to help some more.
