#1. Nice little baggage cart. #2. Oh, what's this? Nice. #3. Sweet sign! #4. Black River Jct track board out of the tower.
Ah. I see you've been out to Snoqualmie! The "sign" is actually not a sign. It was a display item salvaged by Maynard Laing from their ticket office in Seattle. You can see a glue mark on it's front- At one time there was a piece of wood, from which hung a cardboard pocket. That pocket contained advertising brochures.... Boxcab E50
Yep! Stopped by there on my way to camping up on Stevens Pass, it was about the only good weather day to take advantage of.
I was just there too this weekend. I had to meet with some staff from the museum regarding a spot to display the UNW club layout during RR days.
On another note regarding MILW history. The Snoqualmie tunnel is supposed to be opened again for bikers/hikers on or around the 4th of July weekend!
Woot!! Gotta' tune up the bike, and get a headlight on her! :teeth: And when is Railroad Days? I went three years ago-great times!!
Kurt- RR days is August 20-21st. I will be there with the UNW layout, if they can find the space for us. Stop by and say hi!. Ryan
The re-opening ceremony is July 5. Grand Re-opening of Snoqualmie Pass Tunnel Mountains to Sound Greenway There will also be a community event at the Cle Elum depot on July 3. South Cle Elum Depot Community Gathering Mountains to Sound Greenway Paul Seattle, WA
Got lost in Hiawatha country... ....just a few of the many Milwaukee Road artifacts I found yesterday.
Very brave, going into the old town of Beverly. There have been a few incidents involving guns, shooting and drugs... No bullet holes in your car, I hope? Boxcab E50
I wanna say Warden, based off of the pics he posted to Facebook last nite. Very nice to see more remnants!
Roxboro is not much further east from Warden, about ten miles.... I thought that enough track still remained in Warden to serve all industries. At least it looked that way when I was there a year ago. Boxcab 50
Yep, those grain silos are at Roxboro, and abandend. Still in great shape too! If this economy ever gets better, and BNSF wants to go from Easton to Lind, the roadbed is still in great shape! Just have to figure out how to get around Ellensburg.
Yes. Not what it once was- There are some squatters, druggies, migrants, etc, etc. Very low income. Not a place where most folks would care to live. Guadalabeverly, Oaxacathello, places which have changed..... Boxcab E50
