Hope you had a good weekend. I’m off the model railroad schedule for a while so take it away folks! High Greens!
Nothing physically accomplished. But I have been seriously looking at acquiring a specific HOn30 item. A cute little 0-6-0 steamer. Drawbacks are the European style cab roof, and how to convert it to the M/T N scale couplers we in HOn30 commonly use.
I had an exceptionally long weekend this week. Took a couple days vacation. It all started on a bright and sunny Thursday (Mwahahaha) I started to scenic my logging industry. Friday not much got done. Although I was able to add a few more details. Saturday I was able to locate the position of a road I will be adding to the area. I then was able to start a road crossing. While the plaster set up I went to work on a pile of trees I started while on the road. Still have a bunch to finish but now I can continue to work on the layout planting trees. Sunday I finished the road crossing and added the cross bucks. Found that the boards I used were hindering the trains so I had to remove one side. I may have to cut down the ties on the outside of one of the rails. I was on a roll so continued. I now have a permanent Halloween scene. My wife says I’m morbid for adding a cemetery at a church. I also made a pile of logs permanent as well by gluing them together and to the scene. A little CA goes a long way. Looking at the logging scene which isn’t quite finished, I get this feeling I’m missing something. I know it needs people. And maybe a few more stacks of milled lumber. But not sure what it needs now. I can remove the grey building and add another stack of trees. The woods behind the mill I am thinking of adding a deer and wolves. Also some trees behind the church and next to the grey building will be added as well. What’s up next? I have two structures I need to fit in still. Looks like I need to modify one. A trestle needs to be built so I can dig out a lake. A mock-up of the campground needs to be made. And I need to make a baseball scene at a park. Then the roads get laid down.
I pretended a toothpick was water eroding a cut in a hillside this weekend. it was fun! the erosion features came out ok here by NScaleKen posted Oct 22, 2018 at 9:43 PM
