Another expiration date of a work week is upon us. Time to start thinking about our model railroad projects.

Saturday: With this being the last weekend before Thanksgiving, I plan to finish up my Mk. IV module. The L girder shape of the legs was completed this past week, so now I just need to instal the feet with leveling hardware and some cross braces before applying the top. With jigs built and documentation complete, the next two should go together quickly. If all works out, I’ll get up early tomorrow and head to my favorite hardware store to get sandpaper and supplies for the next project. For years, I’ve set the Christmas Train, an MTH Railking Locomotive and a circle of track under the tree. Hard to believe my Westfield Villiage layout, the former host of the Christmas Train, has been gone now for ten years. Well with an old house and un even floors and Lucy being a Beagle puppy, I decided to make a short set of modules for the train to go around the tree. So some sheets of plywood, some table legs and some paint should get me started. Hopefully I’ll have pictures of my grand plan soon.

Sunday: I’m still unpacking from Trainfest. The layout is back up and most of the items for it are back on the layout. I purchased two books at Trainfest, both of which I had been looking for for a long time. One on the Illinois Terminal which has a gold mine of photos of my current area and Jim Boyd’s volume 1 on the early Burlington Northern. I’m looking forward to sneaking in some quiet time and enjoy some tea with these books. With Thanksgiving next week, I’ll also need to get some house repairs done as well.

So how about you? What do you have planned for this weekend? Let us know. We’ll all assemble here again on Monday the 20th to report on how we did. Until then, have a great weekend, stay safe and as always...

My plan is to continue my SD-9 project. However, tomorrow we are going to a friends celebration of life/birthday for his deceased son.
Then Sunday -- hopefully, I will be adding the details to the SD-9's -- in preparation of a final clear flat then a bit of weathering.

Hope Y'all have a great weekend,
    Wolf

we are starting the family Thanksgiving road trip early tomorrow. Maybe some railfanning, but no likelihood of actual modeling.

Although I have put a lot of the City Job modules in storage, I am still tying up some loose ends from Trainfest. I have some "piddly" projects like weathering freight cars, painting bare copper trip pins - or even removing them, and putting cable on cable reels, etc. My plan is to concentrate on the home layout for these colder weather months. The home layout has been sitting idle for 4 years as my modeling time & attention has been drawn into the City Job layout. I have a home tour this season scheduled and am part of the local NMRA convention next year.

BUT, I am attending a train show Saturday - then driving 2 hours to attend a friend's dad memorial service. Then its wake up early to sell trains at a small show in Michigan City Indiana. Zoinks! What modeling time? Sheesh! Then the kid's got a doctor appointment Monday...

All plans went out the window. Fridge died/dying. I will be busy with that unfortunately.
