Welcome back once again to our favorite time of the week, the day before the weekend! And with the weekend comes a chance to do some proper model railroading. Saturday: I really want to get some preliminary work and planning done on the Galesburg City Job. PPUIN has started his 2018 Winter Layout Party over in the Track Planning forum. This is a chance for modelers to let us know what they want to accomplish in the next 6 to 8 weeks and give progress reports, usually on a weekly basis. This is a great way to keep the fire boxes ignited with ambition plus a bit of what I call, modeling via peer pressure. If you haven’t seen it, check it out. If anything, it’s a great resource on modeling by some of Trainboards best modelers. I plan to post where I got my info and how I will be developing my track plan for the modules. I may even start a proper build thread in the N scale forum as old school as that now is. Sunday: There is talk of a winter ice storm here on Sunday so depending on how bad that is, may depend on what I do. In general I would like to relax since I have no commitments regarding holidays and such. So how about you? What do you hope to accomplish this first full weekend of the New Year? Let us know. We’ll assemble again on Monday the 8th. Until then, stay warm, have fun, keep it safe and as always... High Greens!
Not sure if I'll get any modeling done. The past couple of weeks I was spoiled --- so, I think the honeydo list will get me. Hope Y'all have a warm and safe weekend!! Wolf
Well I planned on building a log loader kit today... but dumb me forgot the two rims full of figures that I wanted to try out inside it... looks like it will have to wait until next weekend when I build the logging truck to go with it.
Greetings. Stay warm all. This weekend, I plan on "painting" the roadbed I have glued down for about 25' of tunnel that will serve the double track mainline of my layout. Also plan to work on wiring. I have put down so much track, I have to start getting a handle on wiring. Here's to the joyful travails of lone-wolf modeling!
Just completed demolition of my decades-old N Scale railroad, so have MAJOR cleanup to do this weekend, including a LOT of vacuuming. I have three storage boxes labeled Structures, Electrical and Scenery so that I can more easily find what I need as the new railroad gets underway.
I'm heading to Sacramento to a train show with my friend from work.Hopefully, I'll find some goodies. I've been back to work since just before the New Year began, so I don't know how much free time I'll have. But, I'm trying to get a modeling area set up to work on my trains and other modeling hobbies that I have.
