Well it certainly feels like we were just here. Hard to believe that the Holiday Season is upon us. While most of us in the States may have a long weekend, I know a few of you may still have the standard weekend and our friends outside the United States who do not celebrate this particular holiday may not have Thursday and Friday off. For me, not only is it a nice four day holiday, but it’s four days free of RC airplane talk! Still let’s come together and see if we have anything planned for our miniature pikes. Thursday: We are celebrating Thanksgiving this year at my step daughters house. It’s a long journey across the street! It will be a combined Thanksgiving of families as Shelby’s boyfriend is having his Sister, mom and grandma coming with their family recipes and I’ll be bring my New England style stuffing as well as other tasty traditions. I’m looking forward to trying all of the great food and visiting with our family. Friday: I’ll be playing the part of Sparky Griswald as I get the house ready for Christmas. Lights outside, getting the yard cleaned up and working on the Christmas Train display. Saturday: I have some work I need to do regarding a better transport for the modules. With any luck, I hope to have that taken care of by the end of the weekend. More work on the Christmas display will take place, and hopefully we can get most of the Christmas lights outside finished. Sunday: With any luck, I hope to return to work on the modules. If it is as warm as they say it will be, I need to get more Birch plywood and set the table saw up to make some “kits” to assemble over the next few weeks. Some required rest with both Angela and little Lucy is a requirement and one I’m more then happy to oblige. So what about you? What do you have planned? Are you planning on getting any modeling done or are you just going to relax with family? Let us know. We’ll assemble again on Monday the 27th to see how we all did. Until then, travel safe, enjoy family, be thankful and of course... Happy Thanksgiving! High Greens!
I’m cooking my very first turkey tomorrow. Modeling activity will be planning the track plan for my micro Nn3 effort.
I will be on ATK #20 on my way to spend a few days with my brother north of Boston. I wonder if the diner menu will have turkey with all the fixings?
I'll be finishing work on a crossover that I finally got around to installing. Once the frogs are wired up it's time to get back to finishing the overpass that crosses just out of frame top left and the remaining scenery on this wye module.
Hopefully going up North this weekend. I plan to take final measurements of my future (retirement) layout space up there. I wouldn't want to disappoint myself by prebuilding layout sections that don't fit. Maybe I'll take a project or two along, too.
After a nice Thanksgiving day with family and friends, I'll be with the members of Peninsula Ntrak at the Great Train Show in Pleasanton, CA. This show always on Thanksgiving weekend so it takes a bit of coordination to juggle with Thanksgiving day. We will have a 40ft x 40ft layout which we will set up on Friday afternoon then run on Sat & Sun.
Brad - Pictures and videos if possible! Please?! For those of us what can't get to see it otherwise! Did spend yesterday cooking dinner for all and putting in some new switches to finish up the yard. And am still looking for the short somewhere...!
