    I've been wondering what percentage of S scalers run AC and what percentage run DC on their layouts. I've observed that some S scale manufacturers make their locos both ways.

    The scale guys run DC or DCC . The highrail, large flange guys like the AC because it was the way the american flyer trains were run. The percentage of highrailers is quite large but I think it is shrinking as more scale stuff comes on the market and more highrailers get exposed to scale modeling.
    O scale has a similar situation with AC three rail and DC 2 rail....dave

    I'm DC with plans on DCC down the road. I have a System One package which I have stashed away for the day I go down that road.
