Hey Guys, Is it best to wear a tie to the testing/interview day? If I don't will they automatically not think i'm professional enough? It's for a telecommunications maintenance position. I always feel that slacks and a nice button up shirt are sufficient for a tech position. Anything up and I would wear a tie and/or suit. Thanks
I'm in train service and at both UP (1st employer) and MRL (current), I went to both interviews dressed ready to work. I wore nicer, newer jeans and plain t-shirt with work boots. If the telecommunications job you're going for is one that is out in the field, go dressed nicely like you'd be going out in the field that day. If it's an office job, I'd go with the tie thing.
