Sandy - what have you used for the SN? As I am anticipating making some of the interurban trolleys to run alongside the Key System Bay Bridge Articulated cars https://www.shapeways.com/product/L...lated-trolley-car?optionId=159837575&li=shops - I will produce some for the SN too. If the SN decals are available from someone I have misssed, I will get them from whoever is producing them!

Please do make these Peter. I've been wanting to model them for years.

Well you guys snagged me. I have decided to electrify the mine branch and part of the main line. I went with three packs of Kato double track catenary because I realized with the design allows me to cut apart the whole thing and make two single track rigs. So for starters I have coming three packs of double track and a package of bases. It is designed for unitrack and that is what I have. Next I need two pantagraphs for the steeple cabs and a short passenger car of 30 to 40 foot or maybe two.

Both my Combines are exactly the same except one has no steps, [just what somebody wanted], the one with the steps has all the internal dimensions detailed on a n image on the product page, it is basically getting a tomy tec that will fit this web page helps enormously http://www.trainweb.org/tomix/chassis_dim.htm the different types can be hit or miss when they are available.

As for decals I have not got a clue, I did these for somebody. if I remember they were connected to a museum where there is a combine preserved?

The Key System Bay Bridge Articulated cars print has just arrived

    https://www.shapeways.com/product/L...lated-trolley-car?optionId=159837575&li=shops

I will split them from the sprue and then attach the Tomytec TM-05R chassis to the A and articulation and then work out how to attach an additional unpowered truck [I intend to use an old Bachmann PCC wheel set from one of the 'split' white geared chassis] to the B car.

The model is close but not quite accurate at the coupler end, as I have discovered some better drawings under the buffer bar. Decals are now done too - just right for the Piedmont Station on the B line!

    Peter,
Are you going to produce the truck side frames?

So I have a small layout as some of you know. It is currently hosting a tram on its rails but one of these interurbans would be right at home on these rails. I guess trams are just modern interurbans.

The plan is to see how the print goes together later this weekend, and how to get the truck side frames. The central articulation side frames should be OK, but I will try to post them as soon as I can. I am expecting to go to the Western Railway Museum next year and ride on the SN and Key System care - and possibly take the model with me [if there is space in the luggage!]

I received my first shipment of catenary poles and started assembling them and painting them. My supplier only had double track poles but I saw were they could be divided into singles and did so. The masts are Kato and as usual the Kato quality shows with the details. Designed to fit unitrack. I just located some single track masts and have ordered them. Now looking for pantagraphs.

I think you will end up with something fun and unique. I am at a loss that we see so few electric railway models especially on transition era layouts.

I would bet that a part of it is not wishing to do the work of building (either live or simulated) catenary. I am so glad I was able to see such on layouts of my younger years. It was always very impressive.

Well located a stock of Kato single track catenary poles and have them coming in about a week.
