I eagerly awaited the arrival of my new Intermountain SD40-2 (Union Pacific Snoot nose .. #69342s) with Loksound ..advertised (even on the case it came in ) to have working ditch lights. Unfortunately? there are no ditch lights!!!! Anyone else run into this? My first Intermountain purchase and I am very disappointed!!!

Looking at the 69342's at a popular online shop, it looks like these are an early (pre-ditchlight) paint scheme and are advertised there as not having ditchlights. Maybe you could arrange a swap with your dealer or IM?

Just to add to your thoughts, working ditch lights if the model is equipped only means they are lit. They do not flash/alternate if that is your definition of working.

As tehachapifan states, on IMRC release page, if you click on a particular roadname the page will come up with the road numbers being released and specifically states whether or not the model is equipped with or without ditch lights.

I followed the link you posted. The last bullet point under features reads:
    • This model does NOT have working ditch lights
Now it's possible that when you ordered it the info on the link you shared was incorrect. Then over the passage of time it's been corrected. Either way, that paint scheme for UP is pre-ditch light days as mentioned before if I remember correctly. I'm not a UP modeler. Have you called the retailer whom you purchased it from to try to return, exchange, or otherwise remedy the situation?

Did they change the site in the last 29 minutes? It clearly says 'does NOT have working ditch lights'.

After contacting Intermountain ... they notified Tonys of the error:

    From: Intermountain Railway Company
    To: Stephen Feldman

"Thanks for letting us know, I'll let Tony's know the loco does not have ditch lights. Sorry again that you did not end up with the model you were hoping for. I appreciate you taking the time to let us know."

So I'm guessing your next step is opening up dialogue with Tony's about the error and how to correct it? Or have you already done this? From what you've presented it's an error on Tony's part. The about us page on their website states this:

Satisfaction Guarantee: When you buy from Tony's you buy with confidence. If you do not like it, send it back for your refund or exchange (subject to restock charge at discretion of Tony's Train Exchange). *New locomotive warranty issues will be handled exclusively through the manufacturer.

Now since this is not a warranty issue with the locomotive but an issue in the item listing for it on Tony's website, Tony's the guy to talk to. Curious to see how they handle this if you contact them. I've recently been looking at a couple of items on their website as of late.

Stephen -- I hope you can work everything out with TTX. They are good folks there, and went out of their way to help me with an issue years ago.

That said, I would like to remind all about TB's Retailer Policy.
