I recently converted about 30 MT cars to the new IMT metal wheelsets with great success. I didn't have to regauge any of them. They worked perfectly right out of the package. I have a question about their 33" metal wheels, part#60050. What trucks do these fit? Do they fit Atlas trucks? Thanks in advance for the help.
The 60050 should fit Atlas trucks designed for 33" wheels. The 60052 is specifically designed for the MTL truck. 60051 is a 36" wheelset and could be used in passenger or freight trucks where the 36" wheel is correct. If changing out the MTL passenger trucks to get the correct 36" wheel you will likely have to 'spread' the brake shoes so they will work. You may also have to spread or squeeze the side frames to adjust to the axle length.
