Hi friends I talked to Marty this morning and Intermountain got the first batch of FT's in a couple of days ago. Each model is being test run and they hope to have them all shipped out Monday to dealers.
That's great news for those of you that have been looking forward to them Although not my era, I am always happy to see new, quality products hit the shelves in N scale Harold
Update for the week of the 14th. Some stores could get the Intermountain FT's as early as Friday the 28th but most will have them early next week. ATSF "Catwhisker" & GN are being test run at IM right now and every model will be test run before shipping. [ 20. October 2002, 04:29: Message edited by: Daylight99 ]
Well I got to see an MT SF FT set at the Freight Yard this morning and was impressed by how they looked. I was told that out of the 4 sets they got, three had problems. Now, I don't know if I want to believe this about Micro Trains or not because the source (owner of the store) also told me that there is NO ONE at Intermountain with the first name Marty. Guess he's really in tune with whats giong on..... [ 20. October 2002, 05:01: Message edited by: Craig Martyn ]
Craig,a friend of mine on the right coast told me the same thing happened at his LHS ,4 sets 3 bad A units and 1 B that ran backwards to the A unit.
I have heard other reports of very poor operation on the MT FT's, hopefully they will work this out fast. The people at the Freight Yard really need to keep in touch with whats going on at IM, but they are not the only store to make faults statements. N scale Supply has a message on their web site that says as follows: "Despite false rumors posted on various internet forums, InterMountain DOES NOT HAVE the FTs in the country yet." This, as well as the information from the Freight Yard is completely faults because I know for a FACT that IM has had the FT's here in the USA as of the 14th. One thing I have learned about Intermountain is no one at that company talks to one another. The biggest problem Intermountain has right now in comunication between employees, no two people seem to know whats going on. [ 20. October 2002, 16:21: Message edited by: Daylight99 ]
I have seen the MT FT's at Central Hobbies in Vancouver, BC, Canada. My son works there on Saturday's and he was going to test run one this past Saturday (19 Oct) but he didn't want to break the seal on them so didn't. He has read this thread and will advise the owner to test run them.
