I found two extra parts under the packing material of my IM 5277s. They are inside a clear plastic bag, and I assume they are the trainlines. I did notice a small hole in the floor when I was installing body mounted couplers. My question is are they train lines, and if so how should they be oriented or installed?

I assume that by trainlines you mean the airbrake lines and glad hands. (My interpretation of trainlines were the communication lines used in passenger service).

As to their installation, if you are leaving the magnetic thingies hanging from the knuckle couplers, it will look quite strange. IMHO, while I have Precision Scale air hose castings (and won't be using the thingies), the only time I think I will use them is for photo-ops. They will be fragile, won't be connected anyway, so why bother for runners (as opposed to shelf queens).

While I can envision tiny brakelines with tiny magnets at their ends, so that I could play brakeman and connect each before the train pulls out of the yard... (not really). But hey, it would be cool to pass a signal down the train, and if you got a breakapart, the control system could give you a dynamiter and go into emergency.

Actually had a dynamiter happen in front of me on the PC secondary main thru Findlay OH in 75. BAMM!!, screeeech. Luckily nothing else as it was in my back yard.
