Interesting, yes, but way too expensive for me.

I just can't see spending $70 to $80 for one N Scale car.

Just curious- While on the subject of flat car loads, I'd like to make up some that I'd have seen during the 1960's. Such as shipments of farm machinery. Anone have a recommendation or two for such equipment? If possible, in R-T-R? Harvesters, tractors, etc?

    Thanks- :D

    Boxcab,
You could use GHQ's line of farm equipment. I used 4 of the John Deere 7800 tractors to make up 2 car loads. I model late 90's and saw tractor shipments on CSX (which runs in my back yard) this past weekend, just in case I needed justification [IMG] Five cars worth of brand new International tractors to be exact.

Unfortunetly, they are not R-T-R. :(

This is a link to BLW's website that has pictures of the GHQ stuff: Farm Equipment

My wallet often forgets what it used to be like when it felt money inside. Fortunately these are from a time frame too late for my modeled era. Not that I afford any if they were available from the 1960's!

Surprisingly though, there have been sveral runs of these offered by NSS. And they've all sold out quickly. I guess that someone has a little money. :( But he doesn't live at my house!

I agree that these cars are beyond the reach of most N scalers......

The original purpose of the posting was to show what can be done, not to drum up sales.

I've seen cast resin crushed auto loads at my local hobby shop for pretty cheap. Can't think of the mfr name though. Throw in a MT Bulkhead flat and some paint and you can reproduce this same load for half the price.
