So I bought the V&O book and the Allegheny Midland book Having bad thoughts with all my high hoods staring at me Have a love for high hoods I don't know something about a big SD45 or hammer head U-boat coming at you long hood first Seriously love the fall foliage, mountain railroading, long trains, double track, river crossings, just a little of everything Back to rereading my books
Anyways the WNW is going to just become a short line interchange with about 10-12 units and it'll be an off layout connection My Indian Rock will return as I just can't kill it off so time to decide which route to go low hood nose light/cab mars light or high hoods Leaning towards high hoods
In decision mode of going Southeastern or western at present Still mulling over whether I'll keep the WNW as my primary or just making it a shortline Got time to think anyways
You could take over the Blackwell Northern trackage in N Central Oklahoma since they got a cease and desist from the FRA recently……..
Interesting choice with lots of possibilities, as I see. Nice! Merger partner? Either a Rowelsburg Rock or Indian Southern will come out of that. Maybe some leased WNW power in there? Most of all, have fun! Lots of it!
no WNW power few cars about it Thanks Mike Nope on the name Going to become Indian Rock (Railway) The Rowelsburg Southern and the predecessor roads will eventually be heritage unit's in the future But for now in 1979 there are many of R&S unit's with irry initials on the cab sides lots of unit's without running right along side Indian Rock unit's some in the new combined paint scheme
Sounds like a plan, I’m looking forward to seeing your work on the Indian Rock! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Today I go get some more lumber to start my first 2 modules being supported and hopefully being able to plot some track on level one Staging of 3 levels Maybe get lucky and stand up 3 modules 3 modules
Anyways the Indian Rock will be my primary major class 1 modeled in the fall of 1979 In spring of 1979 the Red River & Gulf RR&G my version of the frisco was Merged into the IRRY Indian Rock Railway It's going to be loosely based off the UP/BN/ATSF in the west
Not to digress too far, but I am curious about this situation. Do you know of a news source, on-line?
Do you by any chance have a link to this Allegheny Midland book? Is this the one about his "Coal Fork" extension layout?
Government shut them down very few certified engineers or brakemen Lack of maintenance on the ROW Think trains mag had an article on it Try a net search on the road Bunch of stuff But yes government shut them down
So got some more lumber and going to start when I get time on this first section as it spans my workbench and chair Cut the pieces up for the L-Girder this will be the beginning of the first level finally Deciding if it will be sceniced or just non-scenic level 1 of 3 as it's my staging yard(s)
So the mail person was nice today and brought me a cutter to go with my sea kings On a switching module I'll be building later
But this is occurring dang PNW lumberjacks Level 1 section one staging L crossmembers 1st leg for west wall getting there or it is alive maybe get 1st 2nd section up start switching as I go to test track geometry Section 1 will determine east or west on locale with the little room I have but I'm going to make do And get a layout to at least running stage
