    Everyone,
I got a Y6b 2-8-8-2 Rivarossi HO scale that was given to me from my grandfather thats now deceased and its in need of a few parts that I can no longer get from my parts sourse. If anyone in the U.S. has a (junker) that is a good parts wagon I'd be interested and apprecitive of it and a price. Contact me at yellowstone10@hotmail.com if anyone can help and is willing to sell one for parts.

I'd be interested in buying a new one, but as circumstances are its got alot of sentimental value to me and to fix the existing one is satisfaction. Its the type thing someone just don't replace with a new one you guys know what I mean. Matter of fact its the only thing I got to remember my grandfather with, thats the biggest reason I want to fix it and run it in his memory afterwards when it is fixed.....

I think all of us would love to hear of sources for rivarossi parts. I also have a small 0-6-0 that needs a side rod, a piston, and the bolts.

Any help is greatly apprecieated. I was raised on the habit of "restore everything and you end up wth a whole lot more."

While I have no Y6B to offer, I applaud your efforts to save your older engine and not to junk it. I am doing the same for my fathers engines and rolling stock I have been given. All the details in the world pale in comparison with sentimental values.

    Benny,
I got great news my friend!!!!!!! My parts suplier I order bulk amounts of Rivarossi parts from I'm almost sure I can get those side rods and bolts etc for you!!!! Is their any chance you can e-mail me a picture of the engine to see it so I can get a decent look at the parts missing and the parts that are their? The reason for this is Rivarossi made changes on loco's in mid production. And the slightest change changes the size and fit of everything. Which I think was stupid but thats my opinion. :D

But I got whats called "The I.H.C. & Rivarossi Parts Catalog And Scratchbuilders Bible" A very rare book of every Rivarossi and I.H.C loco made. AHM had this in their repair shops in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and now the place I stock order parts from stock the book as well. And theirs still is 10's of thousands of parts in the inventory yet today and I got a first hand supplier to get whatever I may need.

Ok I see one version of the 0-6-0 and its a saddle tank switcher, Stock number 1286, production year is 1971-1979. Thats one. The next one is a U.R.S.A. 0-6-0 with tender (like the B&O D-30 Rivarossi made) Stock number for it is 1553 and a change was made and it has another stock number of 1554, production year is 1969. As it looks they (Rivarossi) made a mid production change on this loco being theirs 2 different stock numbers.

Now I need to know if your's is the 0-6-0
"Saddle Tank switcher" or the U.R.S.A 0-6-0 with tender? If you have the tendered version of it I need alittle background info to successfully help you from here. I'm 99.9% sure all the parts for any of the 3,
0-6-0's are avalable yet. Now is the time to determine which loco you have. If your interested in alittle assistance on this you can e-mail me the details at yellowstone10@hotmail.com So I have a brief description of the loco you have and get you the parts you need. Or if nothing else, you can't decide what loco stock number it may be you can ship it too me and i'll get the parts and do the repairs. Let me know and we'll go from their..... I hope I can help you with this. I know I can get the parts I just hope we can determine which it is!!! Thats the sad part, When Rivarossi made the mid production changes they never put any markings on the mid production loco's of any of the loco's they made changes on, to determine which stock number it is. Which is fustrating!!!!

The sad part is I ordered the parts I needed for my Y6b 2-8-8-2 and the parts for those loco's are no longer carried so.... its time that I start my scavenger hunt for the parts I need.......

As for your parts on the 0-6-0 I know for a fact they can be had though!! I bought a few parts for my few 0-6-0's. I got all 3 versions too so I had a mess tryin to get the right parts for the right loco..... I have 2 Saddle Tank 0-6-0's, and 3 of the first production U.R.S.A 0-6-0's, and 4 of the last production U.S.R.A 0-6-0's. So i've been through my fare share of this loco. :D :D :D I guess thats a plus though!!! At least i'm edducated to repair them :D :D
