I have a pair of E8/9's N-scale from Kato, No#s 1800 and 1802. I have seen pictures of these two units, but I know that they had more than that pair. If anyone has any images they can cut and paste and put on here or e-mail at jjssmm01@telusplanet.net please do so. Also if you have any Trainmasters in CP colours by Fairbanks-Morse. Cheers
Jerry, The CP only had three E8/9s 1800-1802. So you have 2/3 of the fleet there! I don't know much more than that, maybe barb can locate some pics some time, she is awfully good at that! Suval (Cheers in German)
E8/9's are an American thing. Canada was an F stronghold. So what do kato and other's release for us modeler's consumption in Canada to run our passenger trains.... E8's.
Hi Jerry A bit of info on the E8's can be found here http://www.trainweb.org/galt-stn/cproster/locomotive/1800s/1800e.htm. Interesting, but sad, to note 1801 was wrecked. Here's a pic of 1800 from that site: http://www.trainweb.org/galt-stn/cproster/main.htm is a great source for CP Rail diesel roster info...pictures, paint scheme info, history, etc. Pete
A shot of #1801 can be found on Randy Masales Website: http://bswitzer.railfan.net/randy_masales/ It shows #1801 pulling a (by my count) 9 car domeliner consist through Woodbridge Ontario in April of 1960. #1801 was involved in a "cornfield meet" in December of 1968 and was retired from the CPR's roster in January of 1969. Cheers. Terry
