Hi guys while searching the net I came across this site. It is a really neat website. To tell you a bit about myself I am currently helping restore a Class C Climax locomotive at Cass, West Virginia and I also like model railroading and collecting railroad memorabilia. Here are a couple photos from the engine that I am restoring. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y256/1111155/Locomotives/P1020813.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y256/1111155/Locomotives/P1030482.jpg
Shayfan, welcome to Trainboard! We can use some more steam fans and rails here. What is the history of that Climax? It must be a great experience to work with that crew at Cass. :teeth:
Hi Shayfan, Glad to have you aboard. Which Climax are you restoring, what railroad did she work for, what was her number....? If you don't have any photos of her when she was working, maybe one of the TB members can find some to post here.....? BTW, what is a "Shayfan" doing restoring a Climax??? Don't you realize that the Climax Union can revoke your lifetime membership....?mg: :teeth:
The Climax spent her life on the Moore-Kepple & Co., of Ellamore WV, where it was used on their subsidiary operation, the Middle Fork Railroad Co. as their #6. The build # is 1551. I do have 1 photo of her but I am always trying to find more. The Climax Union hasnt revoked my membership yet LOL.
The Climax is being restored by Mountain State Railroad and Logging Historical Asociation (MSR&LHA) a non profit 501c3 operation. Members come from all around about every other weekend to volunteer on the project. The crew at Cass is great.
